About Stella’s Kitchen

Caribbean Restaurant in Sheffield

Stella's Kitchen in Sheffield is a charming little place; tucked away on a side street, it has a really welcoming feel. The space is bright and airy, with colourful artwork on the walls that gives it a fun, vibrant atmosphere. Looking through the photos online, I especially liked the little touches like the hand-painted tiles and the colourful tablecloths. It feels like a place where you can relax and enjoy yourself.

Their menu focuses on Caribbean home-style cooking. They offer all the classics like jerk chicken and curry goat, but also some more unusual dishes. I saw a photo of a perfectly plated snapper with a bright, citrusy sauce that looked amazing. I'd definitely recommend checking out their specials board – they seem to change daily based on the freshest ingredients.

What makes Stella's Kitchen stand out is its genuine warmth and the quality of the food. It's perfect for a casual weeknight dinner with friends or a relaxed weekend lunch. It's different from other Caribbean restaurants I've been to because it feels more like a home-cooked meal than something mass-produced, which is lovely. You'll leave feeling full and happy, like you've just enjoyed a meal with family.

What a lovely place to have a hearty lunch. We had the fish dish of the day (Stella’s Cameroonian version of the Brazilian moqueca) and the mutton curry plus the Beignet. Great flavours and generous portions. Stella is very friendly - we had a lovely time chatting with her. Highly recommended.

I've been wanting to go to this place since I saw it on the Hairy Bikers and I was not disappointed. I went for an early lunch after a bike ride and had a fantastic mutton curry with incredible jollof rice. The curry itself was tasty and spicy without being hot. The hot sauce that was put to one side in a bowl was more than hot enough if you were feeling brave. The homemade non-alcoholic punch was beautiful. It was so nice that I asked what else they had that I could take it home, so I've got some more jollof rice and an incredible chicken dish. The place itself - and the views - make it even more special, as does the easy hospitality of Stella. There's nothing like this place and I'll definitely be back.

In the middle of nowhere, this unassuming farm house hides the delights of Stella’s Kitchen. Stella herself is a force of nature, and has brought cooking from her native Cameroon to the Peak District. Large helpings of hearty food with a great depth of taste. Just be careful with the chilli sauce: it requires a certain capability to deal with chilli heat! Note that no alcohol is served (her fruit punch is lovely), but you take your own with no corkage charge.
