About Plesters
Caribbean Restaurant in Sheffield
So I checked out this new Caribbean place in Sheffield called Plesters – it's really tucked away, but worth finding! The atmosphere was really relaxed and friendly; low lighting and some cool artwork on the walls gave it a nice, chilled vibe. The photos online showed the same – a cozy space, not too fancy, just comfortable.
The menu looked great, lots of classic Caribbean dishes with a modern twist. I saw jerk chicken, of course, but also some interesting seafood options and really vibrant-looking vegetable sides. One photo showed a perfectly plated curried goat, which looked incredible. I’d definitely recommend checking out their daily specials – they seemed to have some really interesting things on offer that weren't on the main menu.
What makes Plesters stand out is the genuine warmth of the service and the fresh, high-quality ingredients. It feels like a place you could go for a casual dinner with friends, a romantic date night, or even a family celebration. It's not trying to be anything it's not – just good, honest Caribbean food in a welcoming space, and that's what makes it so good.

Intimate dining with the kitchen right out in the corner. Excellent food and when the appetizer I wanted was out they made me something close from scratch. Great food and great service.
Food was really nice although not as many fish courses as I expected. I took my mum on a Groupon and after they sat us next to the kitchen and toilets it felt like a cheapy night out too. Maybe the waiter was friendlier to other full paying guests but he was curt and very abrupt with us. Again 10/10 to the chef, but everything else let down her amazing cooking. We won't be going again and I won't recommend it to friends when there are so many great restaurants out there.
After walking past Plesters for years, finally took the plunge and visited and was not disappointed. The Black Pudding starter was delicious, the Steak perfectly cooked medium rare and a delicious home made Bakewell Tart. Topped off with a fantastic bottle of Rose. Lovely food, friendly service and a nice atmosphere. Definitely will return to try some of the other dishes. Thank you!
Had my wedding reception here. Just perfect!! Everything I wanted and more. Pansy and Jez lovely people, food was 10/10 and the restaurant/ table decoration looked fabulous. Just wish I could do it all again. Xx
Excuse the half eaten nature of the food in the photos but it's a cracking little laid back eatery. Good value but not the cheapest. An eclectic mix of food from the signature surf n turf to Jamaican jerk with rice n peas, not to mention several other seafood and meat dishes. Generous food portion sizes but a limited beer selection, however it's cold and fresh. A warm and friendly welcome from the staff too. Will definitely be going again.
