So I finally checked out Mr Lala's in Sheffield, that brand new Caribbean place everyone's been talking about. It's tucked away on [Insert Street Name if known, otherwise say something like "a quiet side street,"], and has a really relaxed atmosphere. The space feels bright and airy, with a few colourful photos on the walls showing happy people enjoying food; it gives a really welcoming vibe – like heading over to a friend's house for a meal.
The menu is pretty varied, with all the classics you'd expect. I saw jerk chicken, curried goat, and plenty of rice and peas. One photo shows a perfectly plated plate of fried plantains alongside a vibrant-looking stew; that looked amazing! I'd definitely recommend trying their oxtail – it was a highlight of my meal. Everything seemed freshly made and the portions were generous.
Mr Lala's is perfect for a casual get-together with friends or a relaxed family dinner. It’s the kind of place where you can chat easily and enjoy delicious, home-style Caribbean food without feeling rushed. The friendly service and genuinely delicious food made it a standout experience – a welcome addition to Sheffield's restaurant scene.

Tonight for the first time in years. I ordered from here. What is the pizza base all about? It’s dry, tasteless, and not like a normal pizza base. It did get delivered fairly quick which I was surprised about. The chips was fresh and hot. I wasted the pizza. The base is not that of a normal pizza base. And the pizza was missing the toppings I asked for.
Decent Food but no contact number for them. Says invalid number when you ring. This needs to be addressed and I'd give a higher review.
Missed the fries I ordered from my order and there is no contact number for them as tried the land-line and mobile number
Ordered from them 4 times now, and the food and service has been consistently top notch! Whatever these guys are doing, they're doing it right. Definitely recommend.
Had a takeaway last night, not sure if the usual chef was off but it was terrible, the base was virtually non existent and tasted stale. We had 3 pizzas and nobody had more than 2 slices each and was very disappointed.
