So I finally checked out Montego Bay in Sheffield, that new Caribbean place everyone's been talking about. It's tucked away on [insert street name if known, otherwise say a general location, e.g., a side street near the town center], and the atmosphere inside is really relaxed. It’s bright and airy, with cheerful colours and some lovely Caribbean music playing softly in the background. The photos online accurately show the clean, modern look – very inviting.
The menu has all the classics, jerk chicken, curried goat, rice and peas – the works. They also have some interesting seafood dishes and a nice selection of sides. One photo shows a perfectly plated plate of jerk chicken, looking incredibly juicy and flavorful. I opted for the fish stew, and it was amazing; full of fresh flavors and perfectly spiced. I'd definitely recommend it, along with the plantains – they were crispy and sweet, just how I like them.
What really makes Montego Bay stand out is that friendly, welcoming vibe. It feels genuine and not touristy; you get a sense that they're passionate about their food and sharing it. It's perfect for a casual dinner with friends, a romantic date night, or even a family meal. If you’re craving authentic Caribbean food in a comfortable setting, you should definitely give it a try.

1st time ordering from here, 2 words.....can't fault.... Arrived in a reasonable time, arrived nice & warm, not too hot, just the right temperature. Good amount of mutton, jerk chicken was faultless. Good portion sizes, 2 of us ordered 2x small mutton peas & rice, 2x 2pc jerk chicken & chips, 2x dumplings. Was enough to feed 4 people easy. All in all perfect 1st order, let's hope their consistent because will definitely return.
This gentleman's food is the best Jamaican food I have had in Sheffield. The food is well seasoned, and the pepper is not overwhelming the flavours. I gave 4 starts as it's not always open and delivery is usually not available. Also, I wished the large size was bigger than the small.
Tried Montego Bay for the first time today, a great experience from start to finish. We arrived ten minutes early (the shop was closed) but we were still welcomed inside and given a menu and served drinks. The pineapple punch at this place is something special. The food arrived piping hot and smelling amazing, Had the Oxtail and the Mutton, the Oxtail was fall off the bone tender, super well seasoned and had a nice little kick to it. The mutton was also very tender and well seasoned. We also tried some of their fried chicken that was really good, crispy, well seasoned and juicy on the inside. 10/10 food, 10/10 service. We will be visiting this place again for sure.
Been 3-4 times and I love the food. I always go for Mutton Curry. Real and authentic. The Saltfish Patty was delicious, crispy and spicy. I will come to this place whenever I crave such awesomeness. Whatever food item you get, you'll be craving more The owner is fantastic too. Always puts a smile on my face.
Went today for the first time after wanting to try something different, wow is all I can say! Had the jerk chicken, rice & peas and veg with gravy. Was absolutely out of this world, the flavours and spices where perfect and chicken as it should be. Nice big portions aswell, would 110% recommend and will definitely be visiting again soon.
