About Caribbean Spice
Caribbean Restaurant in Sheffield
Caribbean Spice in Sheffield is a charming little spot; tucked away, it's not immediately obvious but worth seeking out. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, a real neighborhood gem. The space features warm lighting and colorful artwork; it feels inviting and welcoming, not fussy or pretentious.
Their menu is quite varied, offering a good mix of classic Caribbean dishes alongside some more creative takes. I particularly loved the jerk chicken – perfectly spiced and tender – and their fried plantains were amazing. One photo shows a perfectly plated plate of callaloo soup, which looked incredibly vibrant and flavorful.
What makes Caribbean Spice special is its genuine warmth. It’s the kind of place where you could happily linger for hours, chatting with friends over delicious food. I'd recommend it for a casual dinner with friends, a family meal, or even a relaxed date night. It’s definitely a welcome addition to the Sheffield food scene!

A must try for anyone looking to try Caribbean food for the first time or seasoned aficionados. Exceptional patties for a steal of a price. The chicken patty was huge for 1.50 and did not skimp on filling. I also ordered the jerk chicken which came with rice and peas, plantain and dumplings. Once again a good portion for the price and some flavourful food. The chicken was packed with spices and the dumplings were a standout. What is arguably better than the food here is the brilliant service. The guy at the counter is full of positivity and constantly smiling and the food is ready in no time.
Food was banging - we had the jerk wings & curried goat, both with rice & peas, veg, plantain and dumplings. What’s better than the food is the service - quite possibly the friendliest, happiest man on the planet. The only minor thing I can say is there’s no toilet facilities or somewhere to wash your hands, which could help after eating that amazing food. Will definitely be going again.
We had the pleasure of trying the jerk chicken, rice, and peas from this restaurant and it was an exceptional experience. The portion size was impressively generous, providing ample variety and value. The jerk chicken was a standout—spicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Paired with the rice and peas, which were fresh and seasoned to perfection, every bite was a delight. Overall, this dish not only met but exceeded our expectations, offering a vibrant taste of Caribbean cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone craving a hearty and delicious meal!
Food was good but wasn’t what I ordered, I ordered fried chicken and my friend ordered curried chicken - both given curried chicken and the guy severing mumbled there wasn’t any fried chicken or couldn’t be bothered to cook fried chicken was very rude about it like it was my problem, ignored us when we asked a question very unpleasant experience
This was a fun little place. I didn't get to meet the chef personally, but I certainly heard him! The wait time was a tad long but definitely worth it. An array of folk kept turning in hoping there was any food left, that's always a good sign. I had the mutton curry and that was a wholly nourishing experience! Was a nice surprise when it came out with all the trimmings. With the music and people filtering in and out I felt like I was in someone's kitchen - brilliant.
