Calis Sheffield is tucked away in a quiet corner of Sheffield, a real find if you're looking for something a bit different. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with a warm, inviting feel that makes you want to linger. Looking through the photos online, I noticed the space is beautifully decorated with bright colours and Caribbean artwork creating a cheerful, vibrant ambiance.
Their menu focuses on authentic Caribbean dishes, with plenty of options for both meat-lovers and vegetarians. I spotted a jerk chicken dish in one photo that looked absolutely delicious – perfectly browned and glistening. They also have a range of curries, rice and peas, and other traditional sides. I’d definitely recommend trying their roti; it was fantastic!

A proper, proper deal. This is chicken with flavour that packs a punch. For the price, has to be one of the best chicken places around. And the portions are incredible. Flavourful food that you can’t get enough off, with more than enough for one to even take the rest home. Absolute must try. Got the lunchbox and you get a burger, loaded fries, three wings, two tenders and a drink to top it all off.
We were kindly invited along to try their signature fried chicken and we were very pleasantly surprised. It was juicy, it wasn’t greasy at all, and everything was moreish. We tried; Munchbox (£13.99 enough for 2 to share in our opinion); 1 x Burger, 1 x Loaded Fries, 3 x Wings, 2 x Tenders 1 x Drink – made with a sauce as spicy as you choose. The burger was great, the tenders were some of the biggest we’ve ever seen!! The chicken was crunchy, juicy and not dry or greasy. 10/10 from us. Hot Chick Burger (£5.99); 1x Spicy Dipped Chicken Burger 6 Churros (£5.50) – I was greedy and got both the Nutella AND White Chocolate sauce and these were absolutely delicious. Their menu also features variants of all the above (burgers, loaded fries etc), Wraps, Milkshakes & Soft Serve Ice Cream, but the star of the show is the chicken. We will definitely pop by this Chicken Shop again and highly recommend a visit. There is seating inside but it's more of a takeaway place. Opening Times; Daily from 12pm until 11pm/12am. There is nearby street parking or payable car parks. You can also order food for delivery via Uber Eats & Deliveroo
I've eaten at this place over 30 times since they opened and absolutely loved it, over the last 2 months I've ordered 3 times and it's been absolutely shocking. The consistency of this place seems to have disappeared, our food tonight tasted old, the spicy dip sauce was bitter and salty, the fried Oreos were black on the outside they were that burnt! One of the chicken wings had a 2 inch long feather coming out of it too. It's such a shame to see a place go downhill I won't be returning
One of the best burgers in Sheffield. I have become addicted to it. I advise everyone to try it. The cleanliness of the shop and the people who work there are nice. Everything about it is wonderful.
Don't believe all the hype. It's bang average and overpriced. Won't be coming back here. Food didn't seem fresh. All seemed soggy. Only thing good about it was the fries.
