About Barbados
Caribbean Restaurant in Nottingham
So, I just got back from this new Caribbean place in Nottingham called Barbados. It's tucked away on a side street, a really charming little spot. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly – think bright colours, reggae music playing softly in the background, and the scent of spices hanging in the air. The photos online don't quite capture the warmth of the place; they show a clean, modern interior but miss the buzzing, happy energy.
The menu is pretty varied, with lots of classics and some interesting twists. They've got all the usual suspects like jerk chicken and curry goat, but also some seafood dishes I hadn't seen before. One photo shows a perfectly plated flying fish dish that looked incredible. I went with the callaloo soup – it was rich and flavourful, a perfect start to the meal – and would definitely recommend trying their rum punch.
Barbados is a great option for a casual dinner with friends or a celebratory meal. It's not fancy, but it’s got a really lovely, welcoming feel. It would be perfect for a birthday celebration or just a night out when you want delicious food and good vibes. What really sets it apart from other Caribbean places I've been to is the freshness of their ingredients and the obvious care put into each dish.
