About Turtle Bay Northampton
Caribbean Restaurant in Northampton
Stepping into Turtle Bay Northampton felt like a mini-vacation. The place buzzed with a lively atmosphere; Caribbean music filled the air, and the decor created a warm, inviting space. Looking through the photos online, I noticed lots of colorful details and a generally upbeat vibe—perfect for a fun night out. It's not huge, but it has a really good energy.
Their menu is packed with Caribbean classics. I saw jerk chicken and ribs featured prominently in the photos—the ribs looked especially succulent. They also have a goat curry, which apparently packs a serious spice punch (so maybe check beforehand!). I'd definitely recommend trying their ginger pudding; it sounds amazing.
What makes Turtle Bay stand out is the blend of great food, vibrant atmosphere, and generally good service (despite some hiccups reported in other reviews). It’s ideal for a celebratory dinner with friends, a casual date night, or even a lively lunch. While some service issues have been mentioned, the overwhelmingly positive reviews about the food and friendly staff suggest that most diners have a great experience.

Food was ok/good. Price was good (once they fixed the bill) service had issues. Initially they already had a tab open for our table, so they had to go away to fix that. For the drinks order, they failed to mention that the 2 for one on cocktails was on the same drink only (admittedly, this was on the menu, but wasn't mentioned when they told us about it or took the order) so we ended up with twice the drinks we were expecting. They had already run out of some food menu items (at about 5:30) The final bill was then wrong - they had double charged us for the cocktails. Food was generally good though, ribs were excellently cooked, goat curry was tasty. But be warned that there can be quite a range of spicyness that isn't clear on the menu. Dessert (ginger pudding thing) was very good (I did have to scrape something off the spoon I got with it first though....) Cocktails were good, and pretty cheap (once not double charged!)
This was my husbands first time in turtle bay and as a Caribbean man he wasn’t sure if he would like it. The service was brilliant even though it was a very busy Saturday afternoon. Tiana was always coming over to see if we needed anything and was very friendly. The food was amazing and it was a great lively atmosphere with good Caribbean music. We would definitely come again. They even provide a box to take home food you can’t eat as I am a small eater. Thanks turtle bay
My husband and I absolutely loved this restaurant. Excellent service. Delicious and beautiful atmosphere. We were served by a very nice, polite waiter Louis. We left full and satisfied.
Chain restaurants can vary in both food and service, the Northampton Turtle bay obviously has good management as both the food and service are fantastic. We went for Ackee salt fish rolls followed by Jerk Chicken and the Ox cheek stew with rice and peas. All the food was perfectly seasoned and the spice levels were nicely zingy, we will definitely visit again.
My son and I hade a lovely meal and Ash, our waitress was absolutely fantastic. She let us enjoy our meal without hovering but was always there when we needed something. It was as if she knew. On another point, thank you so much for not having the music so loud. Milton Keynes is so loud that you can’t have a conversation. This made our meal so much more enjoyable.
