Turtle Bay Newcastle is tucked away in a vibrant part of the city, and the place has a really lively, fun atmosphere. The decor is bright and colorful, very Caribbean-inspired, and there's a great energy; I could feel the buzz as soon as I walked in. Looking through the photos online, I noticed plenty of natural light and comfortable-looking seating – perfect for groups or a romantic dinner.

Their menu is packed with classic Caribbean dishes, lots of jerk options, and plenty of vegetarian choices too. One photo shows a perfectly plated jerk chicken dish that looked incredible, and I also saw some delicious-looking sides like plantains and rice and peas. I’d definitely recommend trying their cocktails – they have a dedicated cocktail menu, which sounded amazing.
