About What's Your Flava (caribbean & Jamaican Takeaway)
Caribbean Restaurant in Manchester
What's Your Flava is tucked away in Manchester, a small takeaway place that's clearly popular judging by the number of orders flying out the door while I was there. The atmosphere is casual, almost family-run feeling – think bright colours and the smell of warming spices. The photos online show a simple but clean space, focused more on the food than elaborate decor.
The menu features all the Caribbean classics – jerk chicken, goat curry, peas and rice – but it also offers some interesting vegan options like jackfruit curry and breadfruit. One photo showed a perfectly plated portion of the latter, with vibrant colors and tender-looking breadfruit chunks. I'd recommend trying the goat curry based on the reviews, but I'm also tempted to explore that vegan breadfruit next time.
What makes this place stand out (for some, at least!) is the strong opinions it evokes. While some reviewers rave about the fantastic flavors and great value, others clearly had a different experience. So, it's probably not the place for a guaranteed good meal, but if you're looking for authentic Caribbean food with some risk, or you're up for an adventure, you might just love it. It's perfect for a quick and flavorful lunch, and clearly draws in a loyal crowd.

Will be the last time I go here. The jerk chicken is as bland as can be. It tastes absolutely nothing like jerk chicken. Much better Caribbean spots within a stones throw.
A fantastic great value place were foods cooked from scrathch with love the name matches my experince great flavours we normaly have goat curry and peas and rice plus for the vegans in our family jackfruit but today we tried the new vegan bread fruit curry with some sweat potatoe fritters. Friendly staff and great music.
Ordered 4 jerk chicken meals which turned out to be mushy rice with some shredded chicken which tasted nothing like jerk and very salty. All 4 of us felt the same and all went to waist. If you can't cook the dish then don't sell it!
DO NOT EAT FROM HERE! First of all everyone must note this place has a very poor hygiene rating by the food standard agency! A 2/5 rating (improvement necessary)! Needs to rebrand to 'where is the flava' The food is diabolical and disgusting. Rice is bland, food has poor seasoning, salty and oily. The worst jerk chicken out there. If you can't make rice and jerk chicken you have no hope! Seriously store bought food is miles better or making it at home. Do not waste your time or money on this btech Caribbean food. The people running this place know nothing about the cuisine and haven't tasted real Caribbean food it seems or tasted the competition. It is not authentic food at all with no heratiage and it's an insult to the cuisine. There are many Caribbean places in Manchester far superior to this low standard place that uses cheap produce. It's dirty inside, bland and disgusting. The boy working at this place is rude to customers and to the delivery driver's. He has a tendency to run his mouth and thinks it okay to swear at drivers and make threat to them. They no culinary expertise and I wouldn't even call them cooks.
I stumbled across this fabulous place and wasn’t disappointed. Being vegan I was able to have the deep fried Jackfruit with Jollof rice. It was delicious with just the right amount of spice. I also took home some patties, Breadfruit and Callaloo, Curried Jackfruit and Mixed Veg. All reasonably priced. I’ll definitely be back very soon!
Yo the food is bussing man. Got a goat curry jalot rice. Big portion, hot, arromic, good for the price.
