About Sunrise Caribbean Food
Caribbean Restaurant in Manchester
Stepping into Sunrise Caribbean Food in Manchester, I immediately noticed a casual, friendly atmosphere. It felt like a neighborhood spot, bustling but not overly crowded. The space itself seemed clean and functional, though I didn’t get a sense of anything particularly stylish from the online photos. It felt more like a place to grab a quick, satisfying meal than a fine dining experience.
Their menu features classic Caribbean dishes, like jerk chicken and rice and peas. One photo showed a vibrant plate of colorful rice and peas; it looked delicious. However, the reviews I'd read beforehand did raise concerns about the quality and portion sizes, particularly regarding the jerk chicken and BBQ wings. I'd probably stick to the rice and peas, and maybe try a different protein, based on what other people said.
Sunrise Caribbean Food is perfect for a casual weeknight dinner, if you don't mind the hit-or-miss quality. It's convenient and offers familiar Caribbean flavors, but if you're looking for a consistently high-quality meal or something a bit more special, you might be better off exploring other options in Manchester. The mixed reviews definitely made me think twice!

Very friendly and the food was amazing
Used to love sunrise. But since they’ve expanded and opened more shops it’s gone way downhill. Prices are ridiculous now. Portions shocking, all bone & no meat & £2 for a coleslaw is daylight robbery 😓 £50+ for 3 meals & wings, coleslaw and a drink is sickening. Only went there because KoolRunnings van was closed 😰 which the food is x100 better, portions match the price and it’s cheaper. Sunrise just lost a once loyal customer. If your anywhere near here don’t bother. Salford branch get sent the proper food this place gets sent the scraps. Sad times.
Love Caribbean food but this place really disappointed. Jerk chicken and rice & peas were okay, though the jerk tasted like the marinades you can buy in the supermarket rather than homemade. Didn’t come with any veg either, which most others do. Bbq wings and strips were seriously bad. Covered in cheap, one-note bbq sauce. Honestly couldn’t eat these. Won’t return when there’s so many better alternatives
We’re to start , bland dry chicken microwave uncle bens rice , very expensive ,£10 for small portion of horrible food, £2 for a can , staff miserable , , stay clear of this place trust me .
Goat curry meat was tender but flavour just quite bland, goat curry at the drop bar cafe is amazing so tasty compared. I seasons it more but just something lacking . Sevric wok no one greets you and you feel like you're being ignored even when not busy.
