About Spice Island
Caribbean Restaurant in Manchester
Spice Island in Manchester is a cozy, unassuming spot. It doesn't scream "fancy," but the warm lighting and friendly chatter create a really welcoming atmosphere. Looking through the photos online, I noticed the space is simple but clean, focusing on the food rather than flashy decor. It feels like a neighborhood gem, the kind of place you'd want to go back to again and again.
The menu is packed with classic Caribbean curries. They offer a wide variety of meat and vegetarian options, and from what I could gather online, they clearly prioritize fresh ingredients. One photo shows a perfectly plated jerk chicken curry, and the reviews rave about their generous portions. I'd definitely recommend trying one of their curries, and based on the photos, the sides look delicious as well.
This place is perfect for a casual night out with friends or a family meal. The consistently high praise for both the food and the staff points to a great dining experience that's not about pretense, but about good food and good company. If you're looking for authentic Caribbean flavors in Manchester at a fair price, Spice Island is definitely worth checking out.

After using spice island on several occasions I was incredibly disappointed. Mixed starter was a doughy and unpleasant onion bhaji with assorted meat. Hoping the main meal was going to improve. Unfortunately it appeared to be potato and a sauce which had next to no lamb. I will not be going to spice island in the near future as overpriced and poor quality.
The best curry I have personally ever had. And the nicest staff (they gave us 2 extra popadums!). The portions are very generous and the food is divine!
Have been going to Spice Island for years. Great food, great service. The staff are brilliant. Delivery can take a while but that's the compromise for having it delivered. If you want it quicker go and collect it.
My go‐to for a curry night! Even though we now live a 40 minute round-trip away, it's well worth the journey!
Shocking customer service. Spent £65 on food here and I’ve been coming for 20 years, I ordered it the night before as I wanted to eat it the next day for my birthday early when they’re not open. They didn’t send us 1 of the curries even though we paid for it, so I rang them to see if there was anything they can do about it, and they were so rude and said they can’t do anything about it because they don’t have any of the receipts. Abusive attitude, shocking customer service. Won’t be coming here again.
Delicious food. Massive portions. As with all takeaway it's never easy when they say so and app prices are slightly more than menu ones
