About Soul Shack Caribbean
Caribbean Restaurant in Manchester
Soul Shack Caribbean in Manchester is a hidden gem, tucked away in a quiet spot – I’d recommend checking their website for exact location details. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly; it felt really welcoming, like stepping into someone's vibrant home. The space features warm lighting and fun, colourful artwork, creating a cheerful feel.
Their menu is packed with classic Caribbean dishes. Jerk chicken is a must-try, and they also offer a delicious-looking oxtail stew. One photo shows a perfectly plated plate of curried goat, fragrant and rich. The portions are generous and it looks really authentic.
What makes Soul Shack special is its authentic home-style cooking and the friendly service. It’s perfect for a casual weeknight dinner with friends, a relaxed family meal, or celebrating a birthday. It’s definitely a welcome addition to the Manchester food scene – a place that offers flavour and good times, rather than fuss and pretension.

First time trying this place since it recently opened up in Radcliffe Market. I went for the Jerk fish which was absolutely delicious! Everything tasted nice and fresh along with a pot of sauce to add some extra flavour to the whole dish, mopped up with one of the nicest dumplings I’ve had in a longtime. Will definitely be back👌🏻
Delicious food and friendly staff. Will definitely be going back. I had curry goat with rice and peas and ate it all up. Coffee and Spice cook their food off the bone so you get more meat for your money.
16£ for a goat curry with a small slaw ( smallest I have ever seen, and meat was very hard , over 20 minutes waiting time , in take away!!!) 16£££££ this is a market take way!! Then staff argue with me that I wasn’t right when I complained, once a while you will have someone who actually knows how to cook and who actually loves Jamaican cuisine! I had hundreds of goat meat curry in my life, I promise you . If you charge premium prices make sure you serve premium food to.
Big fan of this food and it is nicest jerk I've found so far in the north. I got the jerk chicken with rice, fries and salad. The BBQ gravy was top tier, loads of flavour and lovely gentle heat resting in your mouth after each bite. Soft, juicy chicken and the rice had its own flavour. Ordered a Mac and cheese side to go with it and it was crispy, piping hot and tasty. Loads of effort, talent and love goes I tot his food and you can tell. Will be back when I fancy treating myself.
I do not have a picture of the food because I ate it all up. It was super good! I had the jerk chicken with rice n peas and chicken was perfectly tender n really well seasoned. Beautifully presented n a good portion size. The owners were really sweet as well! I really hope to come again.
