Roots and Roast in Manchester is tucked away on a quiet street, but the bright, cheerful interior immediately makes you feel welcome. The space features lots of natural wood and warm lighting, giving it a really cozy, relaxed feel. Looking through the photos online, I noticed they have some really cool artwork on the walls too, adding to the unique atmosphere.
Their menu focuses on Caribbean food, but with a modern twist. They have all the classics—jerk chicken, curried goat—but also some interesting takes on traditional dishes. One photo shows a perfectly plated escovitch fish that looked amazing. I’d definitely recommend trying their roti; the aroma alone was incredible.
What makes Roots and Roast special is its blend of familiar flavors with a fresh perspective. It's a great place for a casual dinner with friends, or even a more celebratory meal with family. It's also clearly a spot for foodies who appreciate good food and a welcoming, vibrant environment. I think it will quickly become a Manchester favorite.

Came across this place after long ride. Was hungry. The smell that came out, The setting and vibe. So gave it a go, with chicken burger and chips. Wow, the chicken has stunning flavour, moist, nice thin crispy outer, so damn good. The chips are well......Banging, and fair portion and for the price. Love this place so much, its our regular and go often. The owner is a top notch bloke, polite, very welcoming, accommodating always, always a laugh, Not a bad word about him. Superb place and food 👍
Not too sure if this was a authentic West Indian chef but all I can say is WOW full of flavour and very plentiful, sadly didn't taste much coconut cream in the rice but all in all 100% recommend. I'll definitely order again before I go home to London next week 😉
First time here, such nice people and atmosphere when I went to collect food, 10/10 service and the food it to die for, the curried got!!! Amazing
I came in yesterday and instantly felt welcomed you could smell the amazing food right away, I got jallof rice and mutton curry , rice and peas with mutton curry now let me tell you I recommend you visit here the food was amazing so much flavour, big portion sizes , very very good for the price everything was spot on i recommend this to the rest of my family 10000/10 experience
First time this evening and it was great!!! I had the Jerk Lamb with Jallof Rice, plantain and a patty. Jerk gravy to dip in and lots left over for the main. Great portions and tasted amazing!
