About Rita's Reign
Caribbean Restaurant in Manchester
Rita's Reign in Manchester is a cozy spot; it's not fancy, but it has a friendly, casual atmosphere. The place feels vibrant, with a definite Caribbean energy. Looking through the photos, I noticed it's pretty small, so it likely fills up quickly, especially on weekends.
The menu focuses on Jamaican favorites, with jerk chicken being a clear star. They also offer a fusion box – I tried this, which included jollof rice (a must-try!), rice and peas, curry goat, and boneless jerk chicken alongside a small slaw and salad. One photo showed a perfectly plated jerk chicken box – it looked delicious, and the reviews confirm that it is a hit!
Rita's Reign is perfect for a quick, tasty, and affordable Caribbean lunch or dinner. It's great for those seeking authentic flavors and generous portions (though the fusion box was noted to be on the smaller size). While it might not be the place for a special celebration or a super long sit-down meal, it's a winner if you are craving good Caribbean food in a relaxed setting.

First time trying food from Ghana. Have eaten here twice now. First was the fusion box and second was jerk. Think the jerk box wins it. What definitely wins is the jollof rice. Will be back again for more.
Absolutely bang on. Jerk chicken and rice + slaw + salad. Really tasty, nicely spiced. And rice was great. 8 quid. Good value.
Great effort I been a regular at Kool Runnings in chorlton which I still think is the best in flavour but Rita done a very good job , I have tried many carribean food across manchester and they usually very bland but it's decent here ,of course it would be better if they add even more seasoning like kool Running do . I got a fusion mix box for £11 that has jollof rice , rice and peas , curry goat and boneless jerk chicken with tinybamountbof coleslaw and salad Portion sizes are small they sell this mix fusion for £10 regular and large for £11 which really shpuld be called small and medium They should do a big square tray and call that large. Prices are on the high end Overall I rate it 4 stars and it has potenial Menu uploaded Nov 2024
The food was really nice, packed with flavour for sure. The chicken and slaw combinition made everything taste so good. Would I eat it again? Yes, I would. The curry goat was sold out, so I can only speak for the Jerk chicken.
i cannot spend a week without getting Rita’s jerk chicken…it’s always so delicious. i like getting both jollof rice and the rice n peas :) get the plantains too! so nice. the queue can be long but don’t let that deter you from trying! cause the line usually moves quickly.
