About Reggae Spot
Caribbean Restaurant in Manchester
Stepping into Reggae Spot in Manchester felt like a mini-vacation. It's a cozy, unpretentious place; the reviews mention a table for inside seating and takeaway, which is exactly what I saw. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, exactly the kind of friendly neighborhood spot everyone hopes to find.
The menu focuses on authentic Caribbean soul food, with dishes like jerk chicken, rice and plantain, and delicious-sounding dumplings getting a lot of love in the reviews. One photo showed a perfectly plated jerk chicken – it looked juicy and flavorful. Based on what I read, I'd definitely recommend trying the plantain (apparently a star!), and the rice and plantain with jerk sauce sounds amazing. Homemade cakes are also on offer for dessert.
What makes Reggae Spot special is the personal touch. Angeleen, the owner, sounds incredibly welcoming and the reviews consistently praise her generosity and the warm service. It's the kind of place perfect for a casual weeknight dinner, a quick lunch, or even grabbing some takeout. Anyone craving hearty, home-style Caribbean food in a friendly, unfussy atmosphere will adore this place.

Reggae Spot is my absolute favourite place to go to for authentic soul food. Angeleen is such a warm and friendly person who is so accommodating and generous. The prices are exceptional and great for those on a budget. I love every bite of every order I get here, the plantain is my absolute favourite, but the rice and plantain with jerk sauce is also a massive contender. My partner's favourite is the jerk chicken and we alway love getting a homemade cake for dessert. The dumplings are fantastic and are an added bonus to the meal. I couldn't sing Angeleen praises high enough and you can tell she's pillar to her community.
This place was recommended by my daughter who said the food was amazing… she wasn’t wrong. Absolutely delicious, will be going again!
Amazing little hidden Caribbean cafe 🙏 warm service from Angi and food was hearty and filling! A table for seating inside and takeaway! Definitely would recommend and will be back x
I would have shared photos but I inhaled it before I even thought about it! Fried chicken, jerk chicken rice and peas...and dumplins .....all a 10 out of 10! Service was incredible too! Angeleena is lovely 🙏🏻 I'll definitely be back!
Absolute gem of a takeaway in Stockport. Freshly cooked Jamaican food huge portions and reasonably priced. My only complaint would be service can be a little slow when busy but it is definitely worth the wait. I would recommend the curry goat, rice and peas and steamed veg absolutely superb!!
Do not waste your time having food from here. Jerk chicken was not jerk don’t even think it saw a grill.. the sauce was a mixture of ketchup and bbq sauce. The rice and peas were bland. Plantain wasnt cooked properly. I could go on.
Never had Jamaican food before but since trying here, I'm hooked. Food is amazing and staff are insanely friendly. 10/10
