Progress Caribbean in Manchester is tucked away on a quiet street, but the vibrant music spilling out immediately grabbed my attention. The space feels really welcoming – bright, with lots of natural light, and decorated with colorful artwork that really captures the Caribbean spirit. Looking through the photos online, I noticed they also have a nice outdoor seating area, perfect for warmer evenings.
Their menu is packed with authentic dishes; jerk chicken is a star, of course, and they also have a wide range of curries, stews, and seafood options. One photo shows a perfectly plated plate of escabeche, which looked absolutely delicious. I’d recommend checking out their daily specials – they seem to change regularly and always offer something unique.

I was just lucky enough to visit what turned out to be a delicious meal at this wonderful new Restaurant in Chorlton. The service is warm, friendly and incredibly welcoming. The food was very well cooked, seasoned and the value for the portion size is amazing. Definitely order some of the dumplings, delicious and perfect for the sauces of the other dishes. We will be returning in the future most definitely. Thanks for a lovely evening!
Ordered from here for the first time and I can honestly say one of the best caribbean I've had in a very long time.. dumplings was so fresh. The mutton just melts in your mouth and seasoned to perfection in my opinion.. also the steam veg is worth a try 1 meal and I've got over half left over and I'm full.. can't fault it is a must try
Had a Birthday meal here with my husband🎉 Firstly OMG Beef Soup with boiled dumplings Mmm Mmm Mmm👌🏽 Wanted to slurp up the soup so fast it was that delicious!! Then OMG Jerk Chicken & steamed veg & rice n peas, my husband had Brown Chicken Stew & Coleslaw & rice n peas👌🏽and we both went to heaven Mmm Mmm Mmm👌🏽 Service was TOP!!! A lovely lady😊 And atmosphere provided by a cool DJ playing back in the day reggae tunes👌🏽😃 Awesome place!! Thankyou so much👌🏽🥰

Since we were visiting friends who lives in Chorlton, I paid for a Surprise Bag for £4 via Too Good to Go. I've never been to Progress Restaurant & Bar but thought that I'd give it a try. The collection time was from 9pm which was late to be our dinner so I planned it for lunch on the following day. Wow, wow, wow! The portion size was generous - not only just rice but there was meat too. Like I said, we had it for our lunch. It's enough to feed two people! Oh, I loved the food. It was flavoursome; every bite of it was packed with flavours and I wasn't thirsty afterwards. I enjoyed it very much and told my friends. That's when I learnt that my friend (Thomas Jenkins) has visited here before and he also raves about this place. I'm looking forward to be visiting Chorlton again and would definitely eat from there either using the Too Good to Go deal or simply eat out with Thomas Jenkins. See you very soon!
