About G's Gourmet Kitchen

Caribbean Restaurant in Manchester

G's Gourmet Kitchen is tucked away in Manchester, a vibrant little spot that feels more like a friend's kitchen than a restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming; low lighting and warm colours create a cozy feel. Looking through the photos online, I noticed the space features lots of natural wood and pops of bright Caribbean colours, which perfectly captures the mood.

Their menu focuses on authentic Caribbean dishes, with plenty of options for both meat-lovers and vegetarians. They have all the classics like jerk chicken and curries, but also some interesting specials that change regularly. One photo shows a perfectly plated plate of fish escovitch, which looked incredible – definitely something I’d recommend trying next time.

What makes G's Gourmet Kitchen special is the genuine warmth and flavour. It's a great place for a casual dinner with friends or a romantic night out. The food is clearly made with love and passion, and that shines through in every bite. It's a hidden gem that feels refreshingly different from the typical Manchester restaurant scene.

This is how the chicken arrived.. Bizarre. Tops dont need cut off to see if it’s cooked or not - just makes it look like it’s been tucked into and is a little off putting Seasoning on the remainder of the chicken was nice but food overral was mid. I wouldn’t pay for it again. Curried goat was bland so I added my own seasoning to it. For Caribbean food there was no love in the food at all

Lovely food. Delivery on just eat was delayed but I want to say, and go out of my way, this food was DELICIOUS. It was hot, tasty and great value for money. Well worth the great reviews and will be back again. Thank you.

Love it only place I order Caribbean food from. Been ordering for years never had a bad meal. Curried goat & jerk chicken are my go to meals

I seldom leave negative reviews. Ordered from here for the first time yesterday - there was a bit of an offish’ smell to the rice/peas and chicken. I couldn’t make out what it was but I knew it wasn’t right. Ate a few bites then decided to leave the remainder as: a) it wasn’t that nice - it tasted like an English person’s take on Caribbean food - it lacked flavour and soul; b) I just couldn’t get past the smell. Nonetheless I went to bed fine, confident I had dodged a bullet. I then woke up at around 3:00am this morning to the worst bout’ of food poisoning in my life. I’ve had to cancel important meetings and, at 4:35pm, I’m still in bed - weak, dehydrated. As I said, I’m not after a refund, nor do I leave this review lightly. I want to see businesses thrive. But the food I received yesterday was not only subpar, it was unsafe. As an eatery, please do better. It’s not appropriate for customers to be receiving food inventory that is either poorly stored or well past its use by date.

Good and not so good. Driver couldn’t find us, so food wasn’t so hot. Had no patties so received extra dumplings, but not same value as patties we ordered, also no rice with order, chips were not eaten, steak was ok.
