So I just got back from Eat & Sweet, this new Jamaican spot in Manchester. It's a takeaway, pretty small and unassuming from the outside, but it has a really friendly, bustling atmosphere inside. The photos online don't do it justice; the space is bright and cheerful, painted in sunny yellows and greens, giving a real island feel. It's clearly a popular place, with people constantly coming and going.
Their menu is all about authentic Jamaican street food – think jerk chicken, patties, rice and peas, the works. They also have some fantastic-looking sides; I noticed one photo showing a perfectly plated portion of fried plantains. I went for the jerk chicken with bammy, and it was incredible – tender, juicy chicken with a great smoky spice. I’d definitely recommend trying the patties too, they looked amazing, and based on the smell, I can vouch for their freshness.
What makes Eat & Sweet special is its authenticity and energy. It's a place for a quick, delicious, and affordable meal; perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. It feels like a real taste of Jamaica right in Manchester, and if you're craving something flavorful and different from the usual takeout fare, this is the place. I think students and anyone looking for a tasty, reasonably priced Caribbean fix would love it.

Looking around for a lunch time meat feast and came across this place. All the reviews said it was amazing so had to give it a try I'm made up I did as the meals were amazing, the jerk chicken and rice and peas with steamed veg was amazing , one of the best jerk places I've tried . The jerk was spicy but not too hot...believe. went back another day and it was even spicier, just what I was after. The oxtail with rice and peas was amazing as well. The meat fell off the bone and was so soft and tender wow. The coleslaw was special. So creamy and Morish. Had a lamb pattie as well and it was just as good. Lovely herby flavours coming thru and a kick of spice. With the pastry soft and melts in your mouth. Will be back no doubt .
This is the best food I've ever tasted! Absolutely delicious flavour with very high-quality meat. And, of course, it's Halal. Highly recommend!👍🏼
Absolutely beautiful carribean take away so tasty and lovely portion jerk chicken was 10/10 the rice is doused in gravy which is lovely and such great value for money , lovely service really nice and clean and lovely people , highly recommend can’t wait to have it again !!
Walked in for the first time and was greeted with kind happy faces happy to help , took my order and service was quick it smelled amazing, didn't even make it to the car without trying some and just the one mouthful was a burst of flavour i couldnt get home quick enough to eat the rest will definitely be going back :)
Tried here for the first time tonight - food was soooo good! So tasty & tender, great portions too. The ladies working there were so friendly too, will defo be back!
