About Di Shack
Caribbean Restaurant in Manchester
Di Shack in Manchester is a hidden gem! It's tucked away, so you'll need to look for it, but the atmosphere inside is bright and welcoming. The space features lots of natural wood and warm lighting, creating a really relaxed Caribbean vibe. It feels authentic and not at all touristy.
The menu is packed with delicious-sounding dishes; I spotted jerk chicken, curries, and plenty of fresh seafood options. One photo shows a perfectly plated plate of saltfish fritters that looked incredible. I'd definitely recommend checking out their daily specials – they seem to change regularly.
What makes Di Shack special is that it feels like you're stepping into a genuine Caribbean home. The food is clearly made with care, and the service was friendly and personable. It's perfect for a casual weeknight dinner or a relaxed weekend meal with friends – basically, anyone craving truly delicious and authentic Caribbean food should try it.

Absolutely amazing. From ringing me within 5mins of ordering to say unfortunately white rice wasn't available so would you like something else. To the absolute best delivery service from the friendliest person ever. To absolutely amazing and hot food. We will be ordering again. 10/10
I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience. The price is outrageous—£10 for a measly handful of plantains (10 slices to be exact for two portions. You f…. kidding me), and the entire dish (as seen in the attached pictures) cost me £30. It's an absolute joke. To make matters worse, my lamb chops were swapped for jerk chicken due to no lamb chops available after 10 mins placing my order. It can happen. The staff offered me chicken or cancelling the order. Therefore, proactive customer service is much appreciated. All good, we swapped for chicken on the phone. However, the chicken is cheaper by £1.25 on JustEat, yet I received no refund for the price difference or even a little extra chicken to compensate for the last-minute change. This place had great potential in the beginning. Today, however, was a total letdown. I won't be returning, that's for sure.
Ordered jerk chicken off the bone & curry goat with rice and peas, decided to stay and eat in. It was absolutely delirious, hubby said the curry goat was delicious too. Friendly, nice atmosphere will definitely go back and try the patties next time.
Food was amazing & the portion size was more than enough, couldn’t finish it👌🏻 Staff were lovely and helpful especially on deciding what to get if unsure. We ate inside felt very welcome and well looked after. See you again soon.
Too expensive tbh! £18.40 for a meal - had to ask twice! Food was very average, asked for chicken curry (had non) chicken brown stew (had non) So peppered steak slices on rice, didn’t get chance on size just gave me “standard” £11, here’s the issues start, £2 extra for a tiny bit of veg (charged extra max £1!?), £1.20 a tiny 8-9cm festival (microwaved most places 50p-£1), said at £2.40 keep the second! Another kick £3 a drink, at this price give me ice and a glass and a straw! Rice was just about cooked, warmish, not enough sauce, wasn’t even peppery. Didn’t ask even want on a plate even though can see dinning in. Music on a mobile, Too loud, then stopped so they can answer a call. Furniture new but cheap wayfair stuff. Im not being negative - just pointing out things to improve on!! Personally £11-15 for a meal of this quality normally (£8 normal /£10 large) Just TOO over inflated on everything, was going to have dessert/ cake at £5 I’ll go Costco get a full cake £9.95. Wouldn’t return - there’s better for less. 3/10
