About Buzzrocks Caribbean Takeaway
Caribbean Restaurant in Manchester
Buzzrocks Caribbean Takeaway in Manchester is a small, bustling spot. It's not fancy; think more takeaway counter than sit-down restaurant. The atmosphere is lively and friendly, with a constant buzz of activity. The photos online show a clean, brightly lit space, focusing on the food prep area – it's clearly all about the deliciousness coming out of the kitchen.
Their menu focuses on classic Jamaican fare. Jerk chicken is a star, obviously, and the reviews mention succulent meat and flavorful sauce. They also offer rice and peas, dumplings, and vegetables (though be aware of the extra charge for these, as one reviewer noted). One photo shows a perfectly plated jerk chicken with vibrant, glistening skin – it looks mouth-wateringly good. I'd definitely recommend trying the jerk chicken, and maybe a side of rice and peas to soak up all that delicious sauce.
Buzzrocks is perfect for a quick, satisfying lunch or dinner if you're craving authentic Caribbean flavors. It's great for grabbing something on the go, but the quality of the food suggests it's worth a short wait. While some reviews point to slightly high prices and a lack of complimentary sides, the rave reviews about the jerk chicken itself suggest it's a worthwhile experience for anyone who appreciates good, flavorful Caribbean food.

Tried a lot of Jamaica food in Liverpool & Manchester & if I say this place is absolutely Devine the flavour in buzz rocks food is absolutely sensational! You will not be disappointed at all!
I recently visited this jerk chicken shop and was impressed with the quality of the food. The chicken was succulent, and the sauce was rich and flavoursome, perfectly complementing the meat. The rice and peas were also well-cooked and delicious. That said, I do have a small gripe. The £1.50 extra charge for cooked vegetables, which included some cabbages and carrots, was not mentioned upfront. This was disappointing, especially when another jerk chicken spot on Piccadilly market offers complimentary salad and coleslaw and considering the quantity wasn't huge. Despite this, everything else was great. If they could consider providing complimentary sides or improving transparency around additional charges, this place would easily earn a 5-star rating. As it stands, it's a solid 4 stars. Keep up the great work on the main dishes!
No where near as good as I expected! The jerk chicken is nothing like 'proper jamaican jerk chicken'.. basic budget portions an extremely overpriced!! Had attitude from the chef because I mentioned he'd give me the wrong rice.. gravey isn't anything special and either are the dumplings! How this place gets busy has confused me..
Usually, get rice and beans with vegetables & plantain as I'm plant-based. I was on my lunch break and heading to a job and could not resist! Ordered a Plantain Split(Vegan Version of Chicken Split) & Vegetable Patty and also, got their Jerk BBQ sauce. Not over the top with the Jerk Spice/heat with a lovely sweet and tangy aftertaste. They stated they have other versions of the Jerk Sauce. I purchased one to compliment my split and patty. Great work! And Levi Roots have a run for their money 😉 Levi knows he is a legend and is happy for another Caribbean company getting praise. Much love to the staff at Buzz Rocks for feeding the community with great food at reasonable prices. Good food does not have to cost the earth and the atmosphere is always good vibes and banter from Buzzrock and the staff. Much continued success to you all!
For me it's the best jerk chicken place I've been to. I love their gravy and the flavour is consistently good and you can tell they're sticking to their tried and tested recipe. Chips and gravy a delight. Always a friendly vibe and nice service. Great price as well at 8.50 for jerk chicken. Love it
