About Angie's Taste Of Jamaica
Caribbean Restaurant in Manchester
Angie's Taste of Jamaica in Manchester is a small, unassuming place. It's not fancy, more of a casual takeout spot, but it has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The photos online show a simple interior – clean and functional, nothing overly decorated, which honestly adds to its charm.
The menu features classic Jamaican fare: jerk chicken, curries, rice and peas, and dumplings. From what I gather online, the dumplings are a big hit with some, though other reviews paint a less rosy picture. I saw a photo of a jerk chicken dish; the chicken looked nicely browned but the reviews mention some issues with the cooking. It seems consistency might be an issue here.
Whether you'll love Angie's depends entirely on your expectations. If you're looking for an authentic, consistently delicious Jamaican meal, maybe this isn't the place. However, if you want friendly service, generous portions (according to some), and a chance to discover a hidden gem, then give it a shot. It's perfect for a quick and casual meal, maybe a takeaway lunch, not a fancy dinner date.

Ordered two meals, served straight away, however the shop was quiet. Lovely friendly staff that gave advice regarding dietary requirements. Happy with the portion sizes and the food was very tasty. I absolutely loved the dumplings, my favourite 🫶🏼. Will definitely be ordering again
Well where do I start really, how can they pass this off as Caribbean food ? Never had anything as worse in my entire life, bland plain horrible food, tiny portions, no Caribbean flavours in the food atall. We ordered cost £45 and the full order went in the bin it was disgusting, I honestly can’t believe they are trying to pass this off as Caribbean food it’s crazy! Tastes nothing like it and the goat well don’t get me started just bone with fat on absolutely awful, I cook Caribbean food and best believe every bit of flavour goes into my food plenty of seasoning and marinated for at least 24 hours. This is very poor food and poor standard of cooking, can not see them doing well atall !! I feel sorry for every individual going here thinking they are going to get Caribbean food when they are not. Shameful man
Ordered earlier from angie’s, chicken curry, rice & peas, jerk chicken and dumplings. The chicken curry was bland & watery, the rice & peas were flavourless and burnt, the jerk chicken was raw (pink throughout) and the dumplings were stale, weren’t crispy at all and again bland. Beyond disappointed the worst food we’ve ordered definitely avoid
Angie's is amazing, loved every mouthful, staff are lovely and the taste of the Caribbean shines through 🌟 will definitely be recommending and returning! 😁
I don’t even know where to start. The food didn’t taste bad but that’s because it had, quite literally, zero flavour. They got our order wrong twice and overcharged us but after waiting for an age we decided to give up and hope the food was nice. It was not. The jerk chicken was watery and tasteless, the dumplings were stale (awful), the mac n cheese had zero flavour and looked store bought, the Rasta pasta also looked like it came from a supermarket. There was also some incredibly dodgy behaviour exhibited by the staff and some local druggies which made us quite uncomfortable. Honestly the worst food we’ve had in a while.
