About Turtle Bay Camden

Caribbean Restaurant in London

Turtle Bay Camden is tucked away in Camden, offering a welcome escape from the bustling market streets. The space feels spacious and relaxed; looking through the photos, I noticed a vibrant, colourful atmosphere—perfect for a casual meal with friends. It has a lively but not overwhelming buzz, making it ideal for conversation.

Their menu boasts classic Caribbean dishes. I saw a photo of a perfectly plated jerk chicken that looked incredible, and the curry goat, which I sampled, was hearty and flavorful with a good amount of spice (though they do warn you about the heat level upfront!). They also have a great selection of rum-based cocktails, and their 2-for-1 deal is a definite bonus.

What makes Turtle Bay special is the combination of authentic Caribbean food, a fun, energetic vibe, and consistently great service. It's the type of place perfect for a weeknight dinner with friends, a celebratory lunch, or just a casual bite to eat. If you’re craving delicious, flavorful food and a good time, I’d definitely recommend giving them a try.

Hugo was a fantastic server - checked on us constantly and gave us good recommendations for food and drinks. He is awesome - thank you Hugo! The blonde server who took our payment was also really cool. Thanks for a fantastic experience.

I was looking for a unique place to go to with a friend in Camden and came across this gem. The restaurant itself was quite spacious and ambient. The waiter introduced me to the place and gave me a pre-warning that all of their food is a little spicy so that was nice of them to mention. They had a 2 for 1 cocktail special but bearing in mind, it has to be the same cocktail you order. For food, I chose the curry goat. Good portion and heavy on spices. It was a tolerable spice considering my low tolerance, but certainly a builder. Meat was tender and chewy. Very filling meal. Service was lovely. Definitely a good and casual Caribbean lunch spot to try tucked away from the bustling street of Camden.

We had a fantastic experience at Turtle Bay in London! Having tried Turtle Bay in Nottingham before, we came specifically looking for this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. The food was absolutely amazing—packed with flavor and cooked to perfection, just as we remembered. A special shoutout to Olivia, who served us during our visit. She was incredibly attentive, checking in on us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. Her warm and pleasant demeanor made the experience even more enjoyable. If you’re in London and looking for great food with exceptional service, we highly recommend Turtle Bay—and Olivia if you’re lucky enough to have her as your server!

Great vibrant atmosphere and delicious food. Tanzie was great, kept us well stocked with drinks and always approached us with a smile. Definitely recommend stopping by either for food, drinks or both!

Some dishes were good, some were served cold. The drinks were good, I had mocktails. Best mocktails this side of London. The only bad dish was the curry goat. It had no flavor. Curry was the only spice used. Be very careful, there’s a lot of vegetarian items on their menu. The desert was trash. As they used vegan ice cream, I did not taste rum and how many different dishes can you make out of ripe plantain. SERVICE: I had 2 servers, the female One was nice, they both were but I saw her most. None of them did anything extraordinary. It’s Turtle Bay. It’s calm. It’s a vibe if you’re passing through. We were on Oxford st and this was the closest one. I’d definitely recommend if you’re in the neighborhood, but it’s not somewhere you go out of your way to go. The neighborhood is SKETCHY!!!!

Entrance - A 3 minute walk from Camden station, very easy to find, right across the road from Wagamama with clear Turtle Bay signs Food - I was extremely disappointed in the food, the wings were powdery and the mac and cheese was watery and the jerk chicken they put on top of it didn’t taste fresh. The moment I tasted the jerk wings, my stomach completely shrunk due to the powdery texture I could taste, it was not nice at all. Then when the mac and cheese with jerk chicken came out, it looked and smelt like vomit and I was completely thrown off eating any of it. 0/10 for food. Drinks - We got there at 9pm to get the 241 cocktails and I had 4 reggae rum punch’s and 2 Island Escapes, they were nice. Decor - Very modern and aesthetically pleasing. I liked the decor. Atmosphere - Very nice, chilled, not busy for a Friday which was great. Music was good too. Cleanliness - VERY clean, not a spec of dirt. Not even in the toilets. It looked and smelt clean. No issues there. Total cost - £44 for myself as the wings were free from me downloading the app which isn’t too bad. Customer service - The customer service was amazing, from the moment I walked in and were greeted by the lovely security men by the door, to the lady that showed me to my seat and the wonderful service from Tanzie. Tanzie was so sweet and helpful, always had a big smile on her face and was very patient when we took 101 years to decide what we wanted. She didn’t once make us feel like a nuisance and ensured our table was constantly cleared when we were done with our drinks / meals, Tanzie was the best!! ❤️ Overall - 6/10 - The food was a huge letdown but the drinks and the customer service from Tanzie made up for it. I would return but just for drinks. Thank you Turtle Bay❤️
