About Roti Island
Caribbean Restaurant in London
Roti Island is tucked away in London, a small, unassuming spot that doesn’t shout for attention. The atmosphere is casual and busy, a real neighbourhood gem. From the photos I saw online, the space is simple, focusing more on the food than fancy décor. It’s clearly a place where people come for the delicious food, not the ambiance.
The menu focuses on roti, unsurprisingly! They offer a variety of curries – goat, chicken, and king prawn are mentioned in the reviews. One photo shows a perfectly plated curry goat roti, the roti itself looking soft and the goat meat generous. Based on the reviews, the curry goat and jerk chicken seem to be popular choices, though it seems wise to clarify your order specifics to avoid any surprises.
Roti Island is perfect for a quick, satisfying, and reasonably priced meal. The reviews highlight both the generous portions and the quality of the roti itself—a big plus for roti lovers. While the customer service experiences vary greatly, the consistently positive comments about the food suggest that if you can navigate any potential ordering hiccups, you'll be rewarded with a delicious and authentic Caribbean meal. It's ideal for a casual weeknight dinner or a takeaway lunch.

I called ahead & ordered 3 x curry goat rotis yesterday evening. I arrived about 20 mins later and they were ready, nice and hot. Generous portions, the roti was just right, not dry & hard, like in some places I’ve tried in South East London. Also the curry goat was seasoned well with generous pieces of tender goat meat and not too much potato. Reasonably priced too.
Was staying away working, went in half way through the week, food was exceptional, had jerk chicken first night and went back and had curried goat, if had gone in at beginning I'd week would of ate there every night. Mrs Roti was lovely aswell.
28 Oct 2022 HORRENDOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE called the shop earlier today, no answer, no answer machine, popped in just before 3pm because I was nearby to purchase 10 roti skins. I received a SCOLDING BEYOND BELIEF because I didn't place an order 2-3 days ago! Didn't know I'd fancy eating roti 3 days ago. Looked at my phone to check the time during the scolding, she said "are you making notes". When I was about to leave, she said she'll "spare me some of the roti she's making for today it'll be about 30 mins". I declined and she gave me a mobile number that will be answered, to place orders. I've seen this woman BARK at her customers in the past, which has made me hesitate going into the shop plus the EXTREMELY SLOW SERVICE......customers have asked her if she needed their help to get orders ready. 2 months ago - Placed orders without potatoes but both goat and king prawn rotis had potatoes, sadly my prawn roti only had 4 prawns, it was mainly vegetables. Rotis were soggy and stuck to the wrapping, too much gravy.
My cousins and I recently relocated to the UK and began a roti shop hunt across London in February. We made our first visit to Roti Island in March and have no problem sharing, Roti Island is the only place in East and South London, with the authentic island vibe which keeps us coming back regularly (I visit weekly). The shop is run by one Aunty, so it's best not to go in a rush. She not only serves delicious food, but also creates a warm, family-like atmosphere with a great personal touch. I've taken all my friends and family, both locals and visitors, to her shop, and everyone has been impressed by the food and service. We continue to return
I was traveling to London recently and came across Roti Island, an absolute gem! The food was amazing and rivaled in roti and curry I have ever had. The service was also top notch. It is obvious that the owners put their heart and soul into the food they prepare and the service they provide. I will definitely be back the next time I am in London.
