About Pepper & Spice Restaurant London
Caribbean Restaurant in London
Walking into Pepper & Spice Restaurant in London felt like stepping onto a sun-drenched Caribbean island. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with reggae music playing softly in the background. It's a fairly new place, so everything felt fresh and clean. The photos online don't quite capture the vibrant colours of the interior; it's much more cheerful in person.
Their menu is packed with classic Caribbean dishes – jerk chicken, curries, and plenty of fresh seafood. They offer a good selection of vegetarian options too, which I appreciated. One photo shows a perfectly plated plate of callaloo, and it looked amazing. I'd definitely recommend trying their jerk chicken; it was incredibly flavourful, and the spices were perfectly balanced.
Pepper & Spice is the perfect spot for a relaxed weeknight dinner or a fun weekend brunch with friends. It's casual enough for a simple meal but offers dishes interesting enough for something special. What makes it stand out is the authentic feel; the food tastes like it was made with love, and the staff are incredibly friendly. It’s simply a taste of the Caribbean in the heart of London.

Always enjoy a meal from here. I had an oxtail meal with rice and peas, plenty of gravy and a chicken patty. Friendly staff and good variety of food. Many reviews mention the queue but i think it just gives you plenty of time to decide what to order and moves quick enough. Allergen information available near the till. Good value.
The curry mutton was very good as was the patty which I reheated later on. Went for the large size due to the £1 diff between small and large sizes. Lots of meat hardly any bones , very tasty!
Well if you are ever in Dalston in fact even if you are not, this place is definitely worth a visit. It’s literally one of the best and most authentic Caribbean takeaway you will ever find. This place used to be on the main road but for whatever reason it moved onto balls pond road just by the junction. I can’t tell you enough how good the food is. It’s one of the few takeaways that you will be standing in the queue in the street on a daily basis alongside every type of race of people who simply just want the food. On this visit I bought a fried dumpling and fried fish along with three patties. One vegetarian, one salt fish, and one chicken. No words needed on the quality I’ve literally been buying food from these people for over twenty years and it only gets better. The staff are always rushed off their feet never a moment to chat because the customers are endless. On this visit I just stood outside and looked at the verify of people who waited in line for their turn. From a middle aged Caribbean man to a teenager with her mother and then a young English guy alongside a middle aged English guy to a construction worker. Truly amazing to see the appeal. I really recommend this place for the quality of food and the speed of service and most of all the value for money.
*It less good than before Get the stews, curries, but not the chicken. Auntie done sort me out with some utterly unctuous curry mutton, rice and peas, and plantains. Everything was delicious and I was stuffed to the gills, my stomach was full but my hands kept going back for more. Place is crowded, everyone is getting food for themselves and their friends and family.
The food was fresh good portion sizes chicken and beef patties was very nice good pastry to filling ratio. The fried chicken was nice a crispy and seasoned well, the rice and peas not so great didn’t have much flavour and the rice was the fat rice I prefer basmati or long grain. The curry mutton was nice good flavour and seasoned well.
