Original FlavaCaribbean Restaurant in London
About Original Flava
Caribbean Restaurant in London
Original Flava is tucked away on a side street in London, but it's worth seeking out. The restaurant has a really bright, casual feel; think colourful walls and happy chatter. Looking through the photos online, I noticed they've made great use of natural light, making it feel airy and inviting, even though it's a smaller space. It's definitely the kind of place you’d feel comfortable grabbing a quick lunch or having a relaxed dinner with friends.
Their menu is packed with Caribbean classics, but with a modern twist. They've got jerk chicken, of course, but also some interesting fish dishes and exciting vegetarian options. One photo shows a perfectly plated plate of curried goat that had me drooling! I'd highly recommend trying their roti – it was amazing.
What makes Original Flava special is its authentic flavour and friendly service. It's the kind of place that feels genuinely welcoming, and the food tastes like it's made with love. It's perfect for a casual weeknight dinner, a celebration with friends, or even a quick lunch break. If you're looking for fresh, flavourful Caribbean food in a relaxed atmosphere, give this new spot a try.

I follow the brothers on Instagram so was happy to find out where this was place was and try the food. The atmosphere was very quiet which I'll put it down to the time we went, which was just after 4pm. I ordered the chickpea and plantain curry with rice and peas and side salad. The curry was delicious and something I would order again. I also ordered the rum wings which I decided to take home to eat later. They were delicious too. Now I know they are there I plan to go again.
This has got to be the WORST Caribbean restaurant I have ever been to! How am I paying £6 for 3 burnt dumplings. The plantain was full of oil. My chips were cold and the portion sizes was small. A waste of £53 and I travelled from Birmingham. Awful and waste of time.
I got the Sunday roast and there was a lot on the plate and a variety! Very tasty with a lot of flavour. The only thing was the service- it was a bit slow & staff were wearing ordinary clothes so it was hard to tell who worked there at the start.
I went here with a couple of friends and the food was nice and tastey. I think it wasn't quite 5 star, but might have been a 4.2-ish Service was good, but one of our dishes took a bit longer than the others Atmosphere was really good, the place was buzzing
I went to this restaurant back in August and it was too memorable to not give a review. Every single aspect of the experience was horrible and lazy - right from entrance to when we left. Even trying to get someone to attend to us so we could pay the bill was a mission. The bartender kept looking at us and didn’t notify any of her colleagues to help us. The food was horrible - jerk chicken was basically grilled chicken with barbecue sauce drizzled on top it. Same for the grilled fish which was hard to cut through; it was just sweet chilli sauce drizzled on it. I asked for Jerk sauce for my chicken (because the chicken was dry) and the lady came back with barbecue sauce. I don’t know if there was a dance class upstairs or construction but we kept hearing thumping sounds from the ceiling. I’m not doing this just to give a bad review - I heard a lot about this restaurant and I love Jamaican cuisine so I just hope things improve. Very disappointed
