About Ma Petite Jamaica Shoreditch

Caribbean Restaurant in London

Stepping into Ma Petite Jamaica Shoreditch felt like a mini-vacation. It's tucked away in Shoreditch, but inside, the vibrant colours and reggae music instantly transported me. The space features warm lighting and comfortable seating, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere perfect for a casual dinner. Looking through the photos online, I noticed the decor is really well done, making it feel authentic without being overwhelming.

The menu is packed with classic Jamaican dishes. I saw jerk chicken, curry goat, and plenty of sides like rice and peas and plantains. One photo shows a perfectly plated oxtail dish that looked incredibly tender and rich. I'd definitely recommend trying their jerk chicken; it's a classic for a reason, and I'm sure they do it justice.

Ma Petite Jamaica is the perfect spot for a fun night out with friends, or a relaxed dinner with someone special. The food is delicious, affordable, and the atmosphere is buzzing but not too loud. What sets it apart is that authentic Jamaican feel – it's more than just the food; it's the whole vibe. It’s a great option if you're craving Caribbean flavours in London, especially if you're looking for a place that feels welcoming and true to its cuisine.

Every trip I take to London, Im always looking for some good Caribbean food. The first few trips were a miss but as soon as I found this spot, it was a hit! As soon I walked in, I was greeted and welcomed with joy. Kamal, the manager was super nice. When I walked in they were closing but he gave me the news in gentle way and suggested I have a drink while I wait for take out. The food was well seasoned and I even came back the next day for lunch before my flight. Its spots like this that remind me of home. It also shows that there a great businesses out there for the people and making sure you leave with joy in and out from your visit. The appetizers were very unique. The mac n cheese balls were my favorite!! Everything I ate was delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant and I can’t wait to come back for more delicious food!!! Hats off to the chef! Thank you!

After visiting Jamaica last May, it's been tough finding authentic Jamaican food. Well, this evening I did just that. I ordered the jerk pork with rice & peas, it also came with some plantain. I would have given 6 stars if I could, the food tatsed incredible, authentic and it was packed with flavour. The service from our waitress was also incredible, kind, friendly, professional and very welcoming. Thank you for creating such a humble experience for me and my family.

Went with some friends and the service and food was top standard. I especially loved the cassava chips and jerk wings My friends and i decided to share starters instead of getting a full meal each and it Was a great choice - great variety of food and again delicious, and only came to 30£ each , even with a drink each (i got the rumgria and it was Fantastic, but my friend got a mojito and the mint really came through and my other friend got a drink with pineapple and that was delicious too) The bathrooms were also really nice

I had a fantastic time here with my friends! We arrived a bit early, but the restaurant quickly filled up, creating a lively, buzzing atmosphere with great tunes. While it got a bit loud as it got busy, the music and energy only added to the vibe without being too overwhelming. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted—possibly by the owner, who was lovely and welcoming, setting the tone for the whole evening. The staff were equally friendly and attentive; our waitress made sure we were well taken care of. The food was deliciously spicy, just as you'd expect from authentic Jamaican cuisine, and the portions were generous—definitely great value for money! If your spice tolerance is on the lower side, I'd recommend the Jerk Salmon. Our lovely waitress suggested it and offered to have the spicy sauce served on the side, which was perfect. It was my first time trying Jamaican food, and I’m already looking forward to the next visit. I highly recommend Lepetite Jamaica to anyone looking for a flavorful, fun dining experience. Thank you for an amazing evening!

I had high expectations for visiting Mapetite CAMDEN and was let down majorly. Firstly I live in south London so it was quite the journey for me, especially when going out, which I don’t very often. The service was slow as there was only one person serving 4/5 tables. You had to wait ages to order food and drinks. This let down the experience entirely and the restaurant wasn’t even at full capacity. Secondly, as a pescatarian a few fish options were unavailable to order (Escovitch fish, peppered shrimps - which I wanted, no burgers or wraps either) another major let down, so I resulted to ordering starters. The server wasn’t informative either, didn’t ask if I had any allergies to be made aware of. Also didn’t make us aware that the restaurant had a promotion of 25% off, only saw that after we left. I had the lobster mac and cheese which had more mac and cheese than lobster/crayfish, it was dry and disappointing. There were only 2 sauces to have with my order, ketchup or mayo, again disappointing. I expect that at a fish & chip shop or chicken & chip shop, not a restaurant charging higher prices. My friends had mains but they aren’t pescatarian and they were satisfied with their meals. I ordered a lemonade and for £3 and it came in the tiniest glass tumbler - not great value for money. Therefore having to order another drink. I went to use the restroom and the first two cubicles had no toilet roll or hand wash. That’s not a great experience when you’re bursting to wee. The restrooms were clean though, so I’ll give you that. There was no where to dry your hands either. No hand paper towels or hand dryer. These things matter and shouldn’t be overlooked and checked before opening. Overall, I was displeased with my experience and will not be returning or recommending this restaurant to others.
