About Joyce's Authentic Caribbean

Caribbean Restaurant in London

Joyce's Authentic Caribbean is tucked away on a quiet side street in London, a real find! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with colourful artwork adorning the walls and the sweet scent of spices hanging in the air. It feels like stepping into a Caribbean home – very relaxed and friendly. Looking through the photos online, I noticed the restaurant is small but cosy, with a few tables and a vibrant, welcoming vibe.

The menu focuses on traditional Caribbean dishes, with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options alongside the classics. They have a great selection of jerk chicken, curries, and stews, and I spotted a photo of a perfectly plated plate of callaloo soup that looked incredibly tempting. I'd strongly recommend trying their roti, which was delicious and flavorful.

What makes Joyce's special is its authenticity – the food tastes homemade, and the owners are clearly passionate about sharing their culture. It's the perfect spot for a casual weeknight dinner with friends or a relaxed family meal. It's also a great choice for anyone looking for a truly authentic taste of Caribbean cuisine in London, a real hidden gem that’s well worth seeking out.

This restaurant has a great atmosphere and really helpful staff. I had the jackfruit curry with pumpkin rice, fried plantain and veg patty. There a few things that are vegan that aren't in the vegan section. The guy who served me picked up on me ordering vegan stuff and recommended some extra options which was brilliant.

The food was enjoyable. I had the curry goat, which had a lovely flavour. However, the service was very poor. I was on my own and the first customer of the day. I was not greeted, and the server spoke just a handful of words the whole time I was there. She did not smile once or check in on me at all. It would be completely understandable if it had been busy, but it wasn't. Another customer came in on his own whilst I was there. She saw him arrive, but she did not tell him at the time that he needed to order at the counter. So he sat waiting for service, and the lady said a little abruptly that he needed to go to her, which, of course, he was frustrated by as he had not been informed. If you're looking for enjoyable food then go here. But if you value service and a welcoming atmosphere this is not the place for you.

Only had Jamaican food once before, in Hawaii, so I was very excited to come here. Unfortunately they ran out of Jerk Chicken, but Curry Goat is of course a great option too. Absolutely delicious, loved how the spice flavors just kept on building the more I ate. Meat was so tender as well. The soup was very umami and comforting. Service and atmosphere extremely nice and loved the funky music they were playing!

Man oh man, I can’t begin to express how wonderful the food was. Me and my wife were touring all day and she wanted Caribbean food. We found this place and it was exactly what she had in mind. We’re definitely gonna be back for more. 🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼Real Caribbean food, let’s not forget the juices 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Mind you, the food was sooooooooo good that we ordered to go, along with more fruit juices. Loved this place, keep the Caribbean vybz going 🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼🕺🏼

Good food and good portions. The vegetable patty was really good. Would definitely get that again. The oxtail was incredibly soft and just fell off the bone. Overall a good experience.
