About Jerk Haven (caribbean Restaurant 🇯🇲)
Caribbean Restaurant in London
Jerk Haven is tucked away on a side street, but the bright paint and lively music spilling out made it easy to find. The inside is small but cozy, with warm lighting and colorful artwork on the walls. It felt really welcoming, a perfect spot for a casual weeknight dinner or a weekend lunch with friends. Looking through the photos online, I noticed the space features a lot of natural wood and comfy seating; it looks like a place you could easily spend a while.
Their menu is fairly straightforward – jerk chicken, of course, in various forms (from a whole roasted bird to a delicious-looking wrap), plus other Caribbean staples like curry goat and oxtail stew. One photo shows a perfectly plated plate of jerk chicken with rice and peas, looking intensely flavorful. They also have a good selection of sides, including plantains and festival (a fried dumpling). I'd recommend starting with the jerk chicken, and maybe trying the oxtail stew if you're feeling adventurous.
What makes Jerk Haven special is its genuine, homey atmosphere. It felt like a local favorite, not a tourist trap, and the food tasted like it was made with love. It's the perfect place for a quick, delicious meal with friends or a family dinner when you crave something flavorful and comforting. I think anyone who loves Caribbean food, or just wants a tasty, unpretentious meal, will love this place.

First time trying Jerk Haven and we will 100% be back! Ordered a large and regular jerk chicken (comes with rice and peas, salad and gravy), 2 Mac and cheese and 2 sides of coleslaw - £31.50 👌🏾. £2 difference between the regular and large jerk and you definitely do get more chicken and rice and peas on the larger (some places just add extra rice and call it large). Chicken delish, so fresh and great flavour. Delicious Mac and cheese, coleslaw creamy and fresh, all so good!! Lovely polite service in a clean welcoming shop! Will definitely be back!
This is by far the best West Indian restaurant I’ve ever been to in London—and easily the best in the South East by a country mile! I had the curry goat with rice and peas, and it was perfection. The goat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, falling off the bone with generous portions of meat. The rice was light, fluffy, and bursting with flavor, instantly taking me back to my mum’s home cooking. To top it off, the patty was absolutely divine—flaky, savory, and perfectly seasoned. Every bite was a joy. This place is a true gem. The food, the flavors, the authenticity—it’s all 10/10! I can’t recommend it enough. If you’re craving incredible West Indian cuisine, look no further.
What a gem of a place! Contacted them regarding a query about the fish. The phone was answered promptly and a solution found. These folks understand customer service. They are consummate professionals. I ordered several things, and everything was piping hot. when it arrived. I would particularly recommend the sea bream and rice and peas. The rice was fluffy and fresh. The portion sizes are generous. The flavours are authentic and nicely seasoned; reminds you of home. The ackee and saltfish was delicious as well as the melt in your mouth curry goat meal! The food is well presented in containers that are properly sealed. No leaking takeaway from here! Before my delivery arrived, they contacted me to say that a patty had been missed off my order and what did l want to do? I would highly recommend Jerk Haven and will be ordering again. The food is truly exceptional as well as the service! Thank you…….
Turned up 15 minutes before closing and food was still lovely and fresh. Good value for the portion size. The curry goat was so soft and tender. Not just full of bones and fat. Now my go to spot.
Had the jerk chicken, rice and peas and salad today. Would most definitely recommend, food was very tasty. The smell of the chicken wafting down the street was enough to get me in there. Very glad it did!
