About Fish, Wings And Tings
Caribbean Restaurant in London
Fish, Wings and Tings is tucked away in a fairly quiet corner of London, giving it a really relaxed feel. The place is bright and airy, with lots of natural light streaming in. Looking through the photos online, I noticed they have some really cool artwork on the walls, making the space feel really vibrant and cheerful.
The menu is a fun mix of Caribbean classics and some more creative dishes. They have all the usual suspects like jerk chicken and various curried dishes, but also some interesting seafood options. One photo shows a perfectly plated snapper dish that looked amazing—I'd definitely recommend checking that out. They also seem to specialize in their wings, and they look pretty mouthwatering.
What makes Fish, Wings and Tings special is its laid-back atmosphere and fresh take on familiar Caribbean flavours. It feels perfect for a casual dinner with friends, a family meal or a relaxed lunch. It avoids feeling overly touristy, and that’s what stands out—it's clearly a place where the locals go too.

I'm very critical when it comes to the food I choose to eat. This place came recommended by a colleague whom I trust. They nailed it!! Delicious authentic Trinidad flavor. My word, I wanted more of the chicken roti and chickpeas 💥🌟🥰. My appetizer was the cod fish fritters with a creamy sauce that sent me swooning 🎯. I highly recommend if you're in Brixton
Overall disappointing experience :( From the videos I saw on tik tok I was expecting amazing things but this was not the case. First thing they said was cash only to which I replied “ahh that’s a shame is there no way I can use card” the owner was a little blunt in saying “well I’m just telling you” no empathy there 😅 Got some cash and came back. I’m seated and there’s a menu kind of just thrown at me with no explanation of what to try or what’s popular until after I waited 10 minutes and asked. The food came out fast to be fair but the starter and the main came together which was not ideal. The fish starter was flavoursome but a little too doughy. I had the mutton for the main which was quite underwhelming as there was not much meat or flavour. Obviously nobody came to check and see how the food was. 15 mins after I finished the plates were still not cleared so I had to get the waiters attention while his sat on his phone to get the bill. Sorry but you cannot live on your reputation only. Customer experience still counts no matter how far the reputation carries you.
Spotted this place on Google as I was looking for some Jerk Chicken while I was in Brixton. Welcomed by the team and easy to get a seat as we were first customers! Couple of things off the menu but no big deal. We had a selection to share: Cod Fish Fritters, Reggae Wings, Jerk Chicken, Coconut Curry Prawns and we had an Aloo Pie from the vegetarian place opposite which is part of the same place. Just awesome food, friendly staff and not expensive Try the rum punch too!
The food was good but not mind blowing. It was affordable. But the service was not great. We ordered a starter that took forever to arrive so we assumed that it was just forgotten by the time the main came. The couple sitting next to us arrived much later than us and they got their starter which was fine, at that time we had given up. But then our starter arrived…at the end of the meal. When it came to paying I let them know as feedback for the future but not only they didn’t suggest to have it on the house, the guy just shrugged the feedback off. And at that point it genuinely felt like they were just wanting to get rid of us. Not very conducive of the vibe the place gives off, or the wider Brixton market which is very welcoming and relaxed on the whole. Not a bad experience - just one where the details were completely missed and left a bittersweet taste.
Personally found the jerk sauce a bit too sweet, compared to others I've had which I prefer. But I ain't no jerk expert, so going purely based on what my taste buds prefer from experience!). Aside from that the chicken was nice. The prawns were OK in its own but I guess are meant to be eaten with the sauce it comes with because that really gave it the flavour burst. The sauce is veeery very spicy though...so take note before dipping a whole prawn in like I did!
