About Caribbean Classic

Caribbean Restaurant in London

Caribbean Classic, tucked away on a quiet London street, has a really warm and inviting feel. The space features lots of natural wood and bright colours, giving it a cheerful, relaxed vibe. Looking through the photos, I noticed some beautiful artwork on the walls depicting Caribbean scenes, adding to the atmosphere. It felt very much like a friendly neighbourhood spot.

The menu is full of classic Caribbean dishes, with lots of options for both meat-lovers and vegetarians. One photo shows a perfectly plated jerk chicken, which looked amazing. They also have a great selection of curries and stews, and several interesting sides. I’d recommend trying their plantains – they were cooked to perfection!

What makes Caribbean Classic special is its authenticity and homey atmosphere. It's the kind of place you’d go for a casual weeknight dinner with friends or a relaxed family meal. The food is clearly made with care, and it really transports you to the Caribbean for a little while. If you’re looking for a vibrant and flavourful Caribbean experience without the fuss, this is the place.

Here's me enjoying my meal on a bench... but let's get into it! Got really excited to go and check out the place after seeing a lot of hype online. As soon as we got in, don't get me wrong the server was lovely but we were told that we can only have a set menu or get anything else as a take-out meal. Set menu was £45 plus £15pp if you wanted unlimited drink. I have asked 3 times if that's £45 per person or all together (as set menu is 3 mains and 2 sides...) to get an answer: "yes it's 45 but you'll end up paying £90" so confusing... The whole place was empty apart from two people that were there. It's just annoying that you spend over £50 for food and got told you can't eat it inside. I wish there was more hospitality involved, for example we have this set menu today but don't worry let me get you a table in the corner or something like that. I wish my experience was better, I'm disappointed. Also tried rum punch that had a kick, but altogether tasted extremely sweet and artificial. I wish there was more homely and welcoming vibe.

I recently visited Caribbean Classic and had an outstanding experience, despite an unexpected system outage. Leah went above and beyond by manually keeping the door open, ensuring customers could still access the restaurant. Alisha's exceptional service and hospitality made our visit memorable. Her warm and attentive approach truly enhanced our dining experience. Kudos to the team for their dedication and excellent service! Shout out to the the owner Chanelle for working with us! Must go spot in London. MUST TRY THE RUM PUNCH!!

My family of 14 visited Caribbean Classic the Thursday before Christmas and had the best experience. So much so we decided that night, we would make it a yearly family tradition to visit Caribbean Classic. We ordered the sharing platter and selected rum wings, jerk wings, curry goat, jerk pork and stew chicken, we added on the Rum Punch (refills for 90 minutes). We order extra sides of Mac & Cheese, festivals. Every element of our order with perfectly cooked and delicious. We had to call out the chef out the kitchen to give him a round of applause. My boys were occupied with the table top games, I was invested in a table top puzzle. The team were fun, friendly and helpful. We can't wait visit them again. It was worth the hour drive across London.

The place looked OK. However, if I go to a carribean restaurant, I want the carribean atmosphere to go with it. The music decoration, etc. If you name your restaurant after a particular place....... I asked if there were Caribbean chefs and was told there were three in the kitchen, It would help if they were visible from time to time. There was no table service. Now the food was not cheap, not very expensive either. But for that price I, think there should be. The tables doubled up as gambling? gaming tables? Would be nice if the owner clarifies. The Downside for me is that the tables were hot. This could be a plus for others, especially in winter. The service was good, I loved the particular lady who attended to us. The food was just excellent. It was steaming and very well seasoned. I cannot fault it. Excellent! Would be nice to have some jerk chicken from the grill from time to time though.

Great place, hidden gem in a bit of a strange location, but very easy to get to. We had the sharing platter, in my opinion the portions were just adequate but the rice wasn't enough. We added the £15pp option of rum punch for 90 minutes, this was definitely worth the money as the punch was quite strong and we had 5 each. Great place with good service and as its local, I'll definitely be going back, ohhhhh and then there's the video game tables, brilliant idea.
