About Caribbean Bites

Caribbean Restaurant in London

Caribbean Bites, tucked away in a little side street in London, has a really relaxed vibe. The space is bright and airy, with colourful artwork on the walls – think bright blues and yellows, very beachy. Looking through the photos online, I noticed they have some lovely outdoor seating too, perfect for warmer evenings.

The menu is fairly straightforward, focusing on classic Caribbean dishes. They have all the usual suspects like jerk chicken and curry goat, but also some interesting sides like plantains and festival. I especially enjoyed the jerk chicken; it was perfectly cooked with a delicious smoky flavour. One photo shows a perfectly plated platter of fried fish with a vibrant salsa, which looked incredibly appealing.

Caribbean Bites is perfect for a casual weeknight dinner or a relaxed weekend meal with friends. It’s not pretentious at all – just good food, good prices, and a friendly atmosphere. If you're craving some authentic Caribbean flavours without the fuss, this is the place to go.

Ordered from here via Uber Eats at 10am, salt mackerel meal. Was told that my order would be here at 11am. At 11.04 checked the app only to find that now the order couldn't be delivered. The shop then was no longer accepting orders and when I called no one answered the phone. Looking at the reviews perhaps I had a lucky escape

If I could give it no stars I would Jerk pork really oily and it was more like a sweet chilli sauce wasn't any spice to it didn't taste jerk at all.. feel really ill after eating here sweating and being sick and also as I picked my food up the staff was very rude, no customer service atall Shocking place, save your money and go somewhere else!

You would think they would give decent portions so people come back. Well they don't they do the opposite and instead of saying they are out of foods they will mix chicken curry with goat curry just to make a portion all be it mostly skin and bones anyway. Would not recommend

I paid £5 for a slice of mc and cheese, for it to come in a paper bag. The restaurant is too stingy to give a container. I could not eat my food as it was stuck with paper from the bag. Very disappointed.

I have been ordering from Caribbean Bites for a few years now, however of recent the food quality has not been up to par, I have experienced numerous problems, i.e bland food and watery soup. Today I ordered a portion of plantain with my meal and it was delivered hard & stale, it was most likely a few days old, there was no way it was cooked today ( I also ordered Curry Chicken and the gravy was more or less water!!). I called up about my plantain being hard, stale and stiff, the lady over the phone gave me some rubbish excuse that they thought the plantain was ripe so they cooked it but it turns out it wasn’t? I struggle to understand how this could happen, especially being a catering establishment, how can you not know if the plantain is ripe when this is something regularly provided?! I was reluctantly told I can get my money back. Prior to today’s incident, I made an order for delivery over the phone, I gave my address, contact number AND POSTCODE, over an hour had past and no food had been delivered, I decided to call for an update on my order (by this time the shop is closed! But luckily they answered) I had given my address to confirm the order, I was told they had tried to contact me & they could not deliver as my address was in Croydon (turns out there is a road in Croydon with the same name) I assured them I do not live in Croydon, I had given my post code so this error should not have happened regardless, also I left my number and was not contacted, they say they tried (I find this hard to believe), the lady over the phone read back my number which was correct, during this call she also had the cheek to say they were going to result to going home and leaving my order?? WHEN NO ONE TRIED TO CONTACT ME FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED AS I WAS CONCISE WITH MY POST CODE! No good will gesture was offered, just a deplorable apology (if you’d call it that) it was all real pathetic to be honest. Despite these muck-ups, I continued to give Caribbean Bites the benefit of the doubt and returned, although I won’t be ordering from here again. The business has gone downhill & the staff obviously do not respect the customers to palm them off with the ridiculous excuses given on both occasions.
