About Bokit'la

Caribbean Restaurant in London

Bokit'la, tucked away (or sometimes popping up at markets, I hear!), has a really casual, fun vibe. The online photos show a simple, efficient setup perfect for grabbing a quick and delicious bite. It feels energetic and friendly – the kind of place where you’d chat easily with the people behind the counter. I especially loved reading reviews about how amazing the staff is!

Their menu centers around the Bokit, a Caribbean sandwich. They offer different protein options like chicken, and you choose your spice level – ranging from mild to seriously fiery. One photo shows a perfectly plated Bokit overflowing with fresh salad and avocado; the added plantain sounds like a great upgrade. I’m dying to try a level four next time, based on a review. They also seem to sell their food at markets, which is really cool.

Bokit'la is perfect for a quick, tasty lunch or a satisfying street food experience. It's the kind of place that's ideal for grabbing a bite before a show or a casual weekend outing. What makes it special is the combination of fresh ingredients, customizable spice levels, and the genuinely enthusiastic service. It's clearly a favorite among Londoners, and rightly so!

Lovely men serving and the food was very tasteful mind you I ordered with no sauces or chili as I wanted it plain but the flavour was awesome will be my go too ! Keep up the good work

Thinking I wouldn't get a chance to track them down on my recent visit to London, I was almost too excited when I saw these guys pop up at the Hammersmith Street Market in Lyric Square instead of their usual market haunts. They were everything I had Instagram-stalked about and more! The Chicken Bokit was loaded with fresh salad, avocado and added plantain and was probably the best street food pocket of homemade everything I've ever had. With five levels of spice to choose from, I went for a level four and it blew my chilli loving mind. Not to mention that the hospitality of the boys themselves is nothing short of amazing. It's bangin messy perfection that's just unreal!

Found this at the Ally Pally farmer's market on a Sunday - had to wait about 30 minutes at 12.45pm for it, so they are clearly really popular! I ordered the medium chicken with added plantain (£9) and spice level 4. It was yummy but there was just a certain bite missing from it (because of the delicious but very thin bread). The fried plantains definitely gave it an extra point. Unfortunately they didn't have the avocado today, so maybe that would've completed the sandwich!

I'm unsure if I get the hype, chicken bokit tasted plain and it was just plain salted chicken & lettuce stuffed in bread. Salt fish fritters and Caress juice were good. However, for the price and quality it's okay and doesn't stand out. The guy at the till wasn't friendly nor interested in helping or taking orders.

I was very impressed with the food from this street vendor. They sell from a small vehicle parked outside the church on the grounds but the food tastes very good. The menu is small, there are not a lot of options either a Bokit or a salad box. A meal consists of a Bokit (chicken, saltfish or aubergine/eggplant, with salad, in a type of soft pitta bread. You can choose How spicy you want it), A side of either fries or plantain or saltfish fritters and a drink. I love being able to get the fritters instead of fries. It makes a wonderful change. And I got the chicken Bokit-hot. The meal tasted very good. There are also benches nearby that you can eat at. Why only 4 stars? The large meal cost £13, I think it's quite a lot of money for a lunch, but the meal is certainly not big enough for a dinner. A medium meal costs £12, and a small costs £10. I returned later in the week but they had no fritters, while it is understandable that food runs out, as there is not much on the menu, it was disappointing that they had no fritters, especially as lunch time hadn't arrived yet. But I will definitely buy from here again.
