About The Lion Liverpool

Caribbean Restaurant in Liverpool

I just got back from The Lion Liverpool, a brand new Caribbean spot in, well, Liverpool! It's tucked away on a side street, so you might need to look for it, but the atmosphere inside is really welcoming. Think warm lighting, colourful artwork on the walls, and a generally relaxed, friendly buzz. The photos online don't fully capture how vibrant the space feels in person.

The menu is a mix of familiar favourites and some interesting twists on Caribbean classics. They have jerk chicken, of course, and several different types of roti, but I also noticed some more unusual dishes I'd love to try next time. One photo shows a perfectly plated plate of curried goat that looked incredible; it made me wish I'd ordered it! They also have a good selection of drinks.

What makes The Lion Liverpool special is its genuine, unpretentious feel. It's a place where you can go for a casual weeknight dinner with friends or a more celebratory meal. The food is clearly made with care and passion, and that shines through in every bite. I think anyone who loves Caribbean food, or is looking to try something new and delicious, would really enjoy it here.
