Bala B's in Liverpool is tucked away on a side street, but it's totally worth finding. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, with bright, cheerful colours – think sunshine yellow and Caribbean blue. The photos online show a really clean, modern space, perfect for a casual meal.

Their menu is packed with flavourful Caribbean dishes. I saw jerk chicken, curried goat, and plenty of rice and peas options in the photos; one photo shows a perfectly plated platter with fried plantains and a vibrant slaw alongside the main. I'd recommend trying the jerk chicken – it looked incredible and smelled amazing while I was there.
