About Viva Cuba
Caribbean Restaurant in Leeds
Viva Cuba in Leeds is a vibrant spot; tucked away on a side street, it has a really warm and welcoming atmosphere. The space features lots of colourful artwork and the music creates a lively, fun buzz – definitely a place for a good time. Looking through the photos online, I noticed they have some great outdoor seating too, perfect for a summer evening.
Their menu is packed with classic Cuban dishes, lots of rice and beans (naturally!), and plenty of options for both meat-lovers and vegetarians. I was tempted by the ropa vieja, but ended up going for the delicious palomilla steak – so tender! One photo shows a perfectly plated plate of moros y cristianos, the black beans and rice, which looked amazing. They also have a decent cocktail list, which was a welcome addition.
Viva Cuba is special because it feels authentic. It's the kind of place you'd go for a fun night out with friends, a birthday celebration, or even a casual date. They clearly put a lot of effort into the atmosphere and the food – it's not just another Caribbean restaurant. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of Cuba right here in Leeds.

Fabulous little Cuban restaurant. It was busy so book a table if you are going at peak time. Decor was in character. Lovely selection of tapas dishes. We chose 2 mains, a veg, potato and rice and it was plenty for 2. Alhambra beer on draught is good. Waitresses were there when we needed them. We would definitely go again.
Excellent choice of dishes for all dietary needs, one of my absolute favourite places. The dishes never miss!
Fantastic place to eat. The service was exceptionally good and the food was beautiful as always. We ordered far too much as usual but it was all placed in containers for us to take home after. Would highly recommended if you like tapas.
Viva Cuba is consistently superb. The food portions are huge for the price and everything is absolutely delicious (especially the meatballs & enchiladas). We always end up over-ordering but they are happy to let you take the extras away for later! The staff are really friendly and the beer & cocktail range is great too.
Nice little spot, lovely atmosphere inside. Large food portions for the price although some dishes weren’t the best quality. Some staff were lovely but the management/hosts made us feel slightly unwelcome and rushed as a table of 6. Good spot overall for a casual meal out.
