About Freddies Food Club
Caribbean Restaurant in Glasgow
So I checked out this new Caribbean place in Glasgow called Freddie's Food Club – it's a bit of a hidden gem tucked away, not exactly on a main drag, so you might need to look for it. The atmosphere was really relaxed and friendly, kind of a casual, neighborhood spot feel. Looking through their online photos, I noticed bright colours and a generally cheerful vibe; it seemed nicely decorated but not overly fussy.
The menu looked great, lots of classic Caribbean dishes with some interesting twists. They had jerk chicken, of course, but also things like curried goat and a really tempting-looking oxtail stew. One photo showed a perfectly plated platter of fried plantains with a seriously vibrant dipping sauce. I’d recommend trying their cocktails too – they seemed to have quite a good selection.
What really stood out about Freddie's Food Club was its genuine warmth. The staff were lovely, and the food felt homemade and comforting. It's the kind of place perfect for a casual weeknight dinner with friends, or even a low-key celebration. It’s a welcome addition to the Glasgow food scene, offering something a little different and very tasty.
