About Esmies Caribbean Fusion

Caribbean Restaurant in Coventry

Esmi's Caribbean Fusion in Coventry is a hidden gem! I found the space to be bright and welcoming. The photos online showed a clean, well-organized setup, perfect for both casual dining and maybe even catering events judging by the wedding review. It’s clearly a place focused on good food and good vibes.

The menu boasts a variety of Caribbean favorites, with plenty of meat and vegetarian/vegan choices. One photo shows a perfectly plated honey jerk salmon – I'm kicking myself for not ordering it! The reviews rave about the fresh rice and peas, plantain, dumplings, and the BBQ meats, especially the chicken and pork. I'd definitely recommend trying the saltfish fritters and the "Big Man Plate" if you're feeling adventurous.

What makes Esmi's special is the genuine warmth and friendliness of the staff, highlighted in several reviews. It feels like the type of place where you'd go for a relaxed weeknight dinner with friends or a celebratory family meal. Given the reviews mentioning weddings, it's also a great option for catering. If you're craving authentic, home-cooked Caribbean food in a welcoming atmosphere, then Esmi's is definitely worth a visit.

Leave it to esmie brought their truck to my friends wedding. The food was incredible and some of the best Caribbean I have had. Everything was cooked fresh and there were meat and vegetarian and vegan options. The rice, salad and slaw were all super fresh and made that day. Plantain and dumplings were so good too. The bbq s were going all day and the smell was as good as the food. There was chicken and pork and both were sensational. I would highly recommend Esmie to anyone that wants a truck to serve food as this was sensational. Esmie and the staff were really friendly and we.lived chatting. Service was first class. Very much forward to the next time I get to try esmies good. Thanks very much

Me and the husband came to check out the new venue and we were not disappointed. Firstly we were met by Carol who made us feel very welcome, explaining the menu choices and being very attentive. Her energy made us feel right at home. Secondly the food was simply delicious. We requested the saltfish fritters as a starter - They were fragrant and tasty. I had the honey jerk salmon with rice and peas and a side of plantain. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was so, so good. The sauce that came with it didn't really taste honey or of jerk, but was sweet and sticky and complimented the salmon well. My husband went for the big man plate, which consisted of mutton, jerk chicken, rice, chips, mac and cheese, plantain, coleslaw and dumplings! He devoured the lot of it - His only comment was that the fries weren't needed on the plate, but each to their own! There wasn't any alcohol available but this didn't concern us as we went to enjoy food rather than caring about alcoholic drinks. We tried their homemade sexy juice and it was everything we had hoped for. I would highly recommend the food to everyone.

Absolutely delicious food here! I couldn’t choose a sauce so I asked the server what he recommended, he recommended a garlic sauce and I did not regret it 😋 the prawns were really meaty, the rice and pea is very fragrant and has coconut flavour in it too. I would definitely come back for sure 😌✨🌈

Disappointed I'm afraid. We had the special which was lamp chops and chicken wings with chips and salad. For £10 each I found the portion to be quite small. The lamb was very tough! The 'chips' which were fries were cheap, The salad with sauce was lovely however. But paying £10 for sauce and salad with wings that turned out to be 2 chicken chunks is awful. The staff were friendly and pleasant, the establishment had a good atmosphere but that was more from the people from the Twisted barrel outside. I would try the place again however.

It used to be a 5 star experience, but since the reopening in Coundon the food isn't as good as it was in Fargo Village. We do like it, but it's just not the same.
