Worst Jamaican food I’ve ever ate!!!! There is nothing authentic about this restaurant at all! Who ever runs this restaurant should be embarrassed! Jerk chicken and rice and peas was just soaked in this sauce that tasted like sweet and sour. I’ve ate at many restaurants and never have I ever had such a bad meal. I also ordered a patty and the filling was rock solid inside god knows how long it’s been sitting in there hot warmer for. Absolutely embarrassing and waste of my money and time!
Firstly who shuts at half 8 in the evening peeking busy hours? Honestly, the worst tasting food I've had in the midlands AND THE PRICE £££ OVER PRICED !!! AND HOW MUCH FOR A DUMPLING!??! The establishment doesn't know how to cook Caribbean food, there is no use of pimento, scotch, Onions or original spices in any of the dishes - They may have ran out whilst cooking but who prepares food with the wrong recipes. Expect better from our people.
We were really looking forward to this and were told when ordering they’d give us free Plantain which was kind. We went and picked our food up from the store and it was given to us in a paper bag. The bag felt extremely hot on my leg about 5 minutes into the journey, so I went to move the bag off my lap and all the contents spilled out of the bag and onto my lap and into the car. The heat had caused condensation in the bag making it completely rip and fall through. Half of the Egusi Soup had spilled out into the car, because it was burning hot we struggled to even pick it up. I made them aware of this and I was just completely ignored! The food was good but the customer service was appalling after this incident. We also weren’t given any Plantain with our order as they stated when we ordered which was a shame.
Finally, a great Caribbean takeaway. The curried mutton with rice and peas was nearly as good as it could be. Just needed to be a little less sticky. The plantain was perfect. Great service cooked by some fine Caribbean cooks. A little gem. Go find it!
Ackee Tree is by far the best food spot in Leamington. The food is pure home cook heaven, comforting, authentic, spiced and flavoured to perfection. The slow cook chicken curry is my absolute favourite and adding a couple of patties to the basket is an absolute must. The portion sizes are really generous and the price for the quality is beyond reasonable. Would (and do) recommend to anyone and all in the Leamington area!
