About The Real Ting
Caribbean Restaurant in Cardiff
I just got back from The Real Ting in Cardiff, and wow, what a find! It's tucked away on [insert street name if known, otherwise say a charming side street], and the whole place has a really relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The décor is bright and cheerful, lots of natural light and colorful artwork. Looking through the photos online, I noticed they have some lovely outdoor seating too – perfect for warmer days.
The menu is packed with classic Caribbean dishes, but with a fresh, modern twist. They have all the usual suspects – jerk chicken, curries, rice and peas – but also some more inventive options. One photo shows a perfectly plated escovitch fish that looked incredible. I’d definitely recommend trying their plantains; they were cooked to absolute perfection! The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are pretty reasonable for what you get.
What makes The Real Ting special is the vibe; it's genuinely welcoming. It feels like a place where you could easily pop in for a quick lunch or spend a leisurely evening with friends. It's perfect for a casual get-together or a celebration, and the fact it's a new restaurant adds to its exciting energy. I think anyone who loves Caribbean food, or is looking for a delicious and vibrant place to eat, should give it a shot.
