About The Pantmawr Inn
Caribbean Restaurant in Cardiff
So I checked out this new Caribbean place in Cardiff called The Pantmawr Inn – it's pretty cool! It's a smaller spot, not huge, but has a really warm and inviting atmosphere. The photos online showed off the bright colours and comfy-looking booths, and it totally lived up to that impression in person; it felt really relaxed and friendly.
The menu focuses on classic Caribbean dishes with a modern twist, it seems. They had all the usual suspects – jerk chicken, curries, rice and peas – but also some more interesting-looking options I'd love to try next time. One photo showed a perfectly plated escovitch fish that looked amazing, and there were some tempting-sounding sides too. I went for the jerk chicken, which was delicious and not too spicy.
What makes The Pantmawr Inn stand out is that easygoing vibe. It's perfect for a casual dinner with friends or a romantic night out – really, any occasion where you want tasty food and a nice atmosphere. It's different from other places in Cardiff because it seems to be genuinely passionate about good Caribbean food, without being fussy or pretentious. Definitely worth a visit!
