I just got back from TASTE OF KERALA RESTAURANT - Zanky's Deli in Bristol, and it's a really interesting find! It's tucked away, so you might need to look for it, but the space itself is quite charming. It has a relaxed, informal atmosphere – think comfy seating and warm lighting, not fussy or pretentious at all. Looking through the photos online, I noticed the restaurant makes good use of natural light and has some nice touches of Caribbean décor.

The menu focuses on Kerala cuisine, which was exciting for me as I don't often see that represented. They have plenty of vegetarian options and a good range of seafood dishes. I saw one photo showing a perfectly plated fish curry; the colors were vibrant, and it looked absolutely delicious. I'd recommend trying their appam (a type of pancake) and their Kerala-style biryani – they sounded incredible!

What makes this place special is its unique focus on a less common style of Caribbean food. It's perfect for a casual dinner with friends or a relaxed date night. It's not trying to be something it's not, which I really appreciate. If you're looking for something beyond the usual Caribbean fare and want to try something authentic and flavorful, this is definitely worth a visit.
