About New Happy Palace
Caribbean Restaurant in Bristol
So I just got back from this new Caribbean place in Bristol called New Happy Palace. It's tucked away on a quieter street – I wouldn't have found it without Google Maps! The atmosphere was really relaxed and friendly; it felt more like a neighbourhood spot than a fancy restaurant. The space features warm lighting and a few colourful paintings that add to the relaxed, homely feel.
They have a pretty straightforward menu with all the Caribbean classics. I saw jerk chicken, curries, rice and peas, and a bunch of sides. One photo showed a perfectly plated plate of oxtail stew, which looked incredible. I'd definitely recommend trying their stews if you go. The prices are pretty reasonable too - definitely student-friendly.
What makes New Happy Palace special is its genuine, welcoming vibe. It's perfect for a casual weeknight dinner with friends or a low-key date. It's a nice change from the more polished Caribbean restaurants you might find elsewhere; this one feels more authentic and less pretentious. I'd suggest heading there if you want delicious, fairly-priced food and a friendly atmosphere.
