About Batida
Caribbean Restaurant in Bristol
Batida, Bristol's newest Caribbean restaurant, is tucked away on a quiet street, but don't let that fool you – the inside is bright and lively. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, perfect for a casual weeknight dinner or a weekend get-together. Looking through the photos online, I noticed the warm lighting and vibrant artwork which really create a fun, island vibe.
Their menu is fairly extensive, offering a good selection of traditional Caribbean dishes alongside some more creative takes. I spotted jerk chicken and curried goat (both looked amazing!), plus a few interesting vegetarian options. One photo shows a perfectly plated platter of fried plantains with a vibrant dipping sauce – I'd definitely recommend trying that as a starter.
What makes Batida special is its genuine feel; it doesn’t feel like a generic Caribbean restaurant trying too hard. It’s the kind of place perfect for a celebratory meal with friends, or a relaxed date night. It's somewhere I'd happily return to, and I think anyone looking for tasty Caribbean food in a friendly, unpretentious atmosphere will love it.
