About Tasti Jerk
Caribbean Restaurant in Birmingham
I just got back from Tasti Jerk in Birmingham, and wow, what a find! It's a small, bright spot tucked away – I'd say it has a really relaxed, neighbourhood joint vibe. The photos online don't quite capture the energy; it's much warmer and more inviting in person. The walls are painted a cheerful yellow, and there's reggae music playing softly in the background.
The menu is focused on Jamaican jerk, which is fantastic. They've got all the classics – jerk chicken, pork, and even some veggie options. One photo shows a perfectly plated jerk chicken with vibrant, colourful sides of rice and peas, and plantains. I went for the jerk chicken, and it was bursting with flavour; tender and juicy, with just the right amount of spice. They also have a good selection of sides and drinks, including some interesting fruit juices.
What makes Tasti Jerk special is that it feels authentic and unpretentious. It's the kind of place you can grab a quick and delicious lunch or enjoy a casual dinner with friends. It's perfect for a laid-back get-together or a satisfying meal after a long day. If you're craving genuinely good Caribbean food without the fuss, this is the place to go.

Absolutely lovely place. Ordered using Too Good To Go, however they were doing free food/drinks anyway for Christmas! Staff were very polite and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Food was delicious, everything was quick, would come here again. Packaging did leak a bit and wasn't sturdy for the food, however I assume it was because of the free food they were giving away/preventing plastic waste
Ordered a takeaway from here for the first time and the last. Ordered Jerk chicken, Jerk and peppered prawns combo, beef patty and lamb patty. In what world was this Jerk! So dissapointed! It had no spice, was so sweet, was just chicken with barbecue sauce chucked on top! And how were the peppered prawns peppered? The shells had been left on, there was no flavour to them at all and they'd been overcooked and were starting to get rubbery. The patties weren't delivered. They refunded us, which was just as well as I have no doubt they'd have been as dissapointing as the rest of the food! So sad I wasted my money from this place, so dissapointed you're trying to pass this off as Jerk! The only thing I can say about this place is that the food was edible, great if you want lots of rice, barbecue sauce chicken and plain, overcooked prawns!
The shop was clean, friendly staff, large screen to watch and listen Caribbean music while you wait. The food was on point, taste like prepared with love.👌🏾 I had a generous portion of jerk chicken, rice and peas, along with two large fried dumplings. Absolutely really delicious 😋 Very happy with my takeaway 😊. Highly recommend, you will definitely not be disappointed 👍🏾
Don't order here ever. They sent me the wrong order and still charged me for it, a portion of pepper prawns for £6 was 4 small prawns and the jerk chicken tasted more like sweet barbecue chicken. You basically pay for a meal padded out with lots of rice. Avoid at all costs
I’m fussy with my food but I will eat from here all Day long, and only work over the road. Food is banging not gunna even try sugar coat it :-) 5* from me
