About So Nice Caribbean Takeaway
Caribbean Restaurant in Birmingham
So Nice Caribbean Takeaway in Birmingham is a bustling little spot. It's a takeaway, so don't expect a fancy sit-down experience, but it's bright and cheerful inside. The photos online show a clean, functional space, clearly focused on getting good food out quickly. It feels very much like a neighbourhood gem, the kind of place locals rely on for a delicious, quick meal.
Their menu seems to focus on classic Caribbean dishes. They definitely have curries (mutton is mentioned in the reviews!), and judging by some online photos, I'd guess there's also oxtail and perhaps some soups. One photo shows a perfectly plated curry that looks incredibly fragrant. I'd definitely be tempted to try the mutton curry or oxtail, but I'd call ahead to check availability as the reviews mention soup selling out quickly.
What makes So Nice stand out is its apparent popularity with locals and the generally positive reviews about the staff. It seems ideal for a quick, tasty lunch or a simple dinner that doesn’t require a lot of fuss. It's not fine dining, but people seem to appreciate the convenient location, friendly service, and reasonably priced food. If you’re in Birmingham and craving home-style Caribbean cooking, it's worth a visit, but maybe call ahead to avoid disappointment with any particular dish.

Place is on point. Staff are very pleasant, attentive and helpful. Food is delicious.
I Went to get soup at 4.15 pm I was told the soup had just finished so I decided to have ox tail with food What a big disappointment the food had no taste the ox tail didn't look like ox tail and it certainly didn't taste like ox tail. I called the shop up and told him the ox tail was not good what a waste of money I won't be going back. It is very hard to find a food shop that comes close to BINGS... The joke is my husband went to the same shop after he had finished work at 7pm to buy me soup he was told the soup had just finished so did the soup finish at 4 or 7 if you didn't have any just say you don't have any left.
Ordered 2 mutton curries cost 26 pound so th ou that it would be nice. No flavour at all, don’t waste your money use the one round the corner.
So my son ordered me Rice & Peas and Curried Mutton plus his own food. I was hungry and ready for a nice Caribbean meal. Omg, I put some mutton in my mouth and almost choked on the fat and gristle ( if you are buying ‘mixed mutton’ at least cut the fat off) Rice & Peas was ok ‘at least better than the mutton’. Iwas so disappointed but needed to eat so I ate the dry rice and peas., there wasn’t much gravy at all… Absolutely gutted
Mutton soup with no mutton or flavour, just salty water with veg and dumpling. Me struggle to eat that why i dont botter to bye out a road. No Love No Pride any more, just a money ting.
£12 for a large portion of food that included 3 of the smallest pieces of chicken you'll ever see. For context my 7 year old who can't finish a meal ate this and was still hungry. An absolute scam of a place. Worst carribean place I've ever purchased from.
