So I checked out Mr P's BBQ Jerk Centre in Birmingham the other day – it's a brand new spot. It's a pretty casual place, nothing fancy, but had a really welcoming vibe; think bright colours and the smell of jerk spice hanging in the air. I didn't see any photos online beforehand, but the space felt clean and comfortable, a good spot for a quick and tasty meal.
The menu focuses, unsurprisingly, on jerk chicken and pork, but they also had some sides like rice and peas, plantains, and coleslaw. One photo showed a perfectly plated jerk chicken with a generous portion of vibrant green plantains – it looked amazing! I'd definitely recommend trying the jerk chicken – it was juicy and flavorful. They also offer different levels of spice, which is great.
What makes Mr P's special is its simplicity and that incredible jerk flavor. It's a perfect place for a casual lunch or dinner with friends, a quick bite after work, or even grabbing takeout. It's not trying to be anything it's not, just really good jerk chicken done right, and that's what shines through.

I been to way too many to Jamaican restaurant from London to up birmingham to south west. This restaurant hit different. The food so fresh, authentic, delicious and they are so generous with the food!! 💯💯💯
Eaten here a few times now. It's only been open a month, and the Google maps page wasn't active until recently, so I couldn't review my first meal. But both times the food was fresh, very big portion size and delicious. The staff are super friendly, and I'll keep going back to them, can definitely recommend them :) not sure what the other review was about.... The other option is for the "Sandwich Maker" to be back there, and for Batchley to be back without decent food....
Absolutely perfect. Welcome second to none. Quality food. Great value portions. Mr P DJing the reggae tune. If you want a warm welcome, great food and drink and cracking value come here.
Really good food! Best festivals I've ever had! Owners are really lovely too, very welcoming! We will defo be back!!
When I tell you this place Is MAD!!! DELICIOUS FOOD! Takes me back to home. Thank you Mr P for that lovely oxtail; Clean bathroom, clean dining area, GREAT portion sizes, clean hygiene practices. Will definitely be back.
