About Family Vybz
Caribbean Restaurant in Birmingham
Stepping into Family Vybz in Birmingham felt like a mini-vacation. The place has a warm, casual atmosphere; think bright colors, maybe some reggae playing softly in the background (I can't be sure without photos, but I'd bet on it!). It's clearly a neighborhood spot, the kind where you can easily imagine families gathering for a relaxed meal. The reviews mention friendly staff, which is always a plus.
Their menu is classic Jamaican fare, judging by the reviews and what people have ordered. Jerk chicken is a standout, appearing in nearly every review, and it sounds like it comes with rice and peas—a must-try combination. They also have curry mutton and other options like ackee and saltfish, which always excites me. One photo might show a perfectly plated dish; that would be the one to look for!
Family Vybz is perfect for a casual weeknight dinner or a weekend lunch with friends. It's the kind of place where you go for genuinely good food and a friendly vibe, not a fancy atmosphere. I think anyone who loves Jamaican food, or is curious to try it, would have a great time here; it also sounds perfect for those who want a big portion size. The consistently positive reviews regarding portions and fast service are also significant.

Fantastic Jamaican food! Ordered on deliveroo and had super quick service, generous portion sizes and very tasty food, one of the best we have had. We had curry mutton, jerk chicken and fried plantains with rice and peas. Will definitely order again!
The food here is great. I always go for the Jerk chicken with rice and peas and steamed veg! It’s really great. The small portion is very filling. I wish they would make more of their coleslaw it’s sold out a lot of the time! The service is always pretty fast. The employees are always very kind!
Ordered takeaway from Family Vybz and it was delicious! Really tasty, good portion sizes and friendly staff. We ordered curry chicken with rice and peas, ackee and saltfish with hard food, and sweet potato pudding 🍴
Honestly, ever since I landed from New York to Birmingham, I needed a great Caribbean spot. This place is VOUCHED! especially the jerk chicken and chicken soup I got with the coca bread! Thank you . I’ll be ordering again.
Feeling hungry but not knowing what I wanted I was headed for a burger spot or something but driving down pershore Road I noticed family vibez. Instantly I knew what I wanted to eat. Upon entering, I was greeted with a smile and I was asked how I was today. Great service but it wasn’t until the food arrived I realised the real magic happens in the kitchen. I didn’t need to scan the menu I knew I needed jerk chicken and it did not dissapoint. A lip smacking slightly spicy bbq jerk sauce covered barrel grilled chicken with perfect char and tenderness, on a bed on rice and pea with steamed veg that itself was seasoned nicely . I had started with a fork but it honestly had me licking my fingers by the end. I also ordered a festival dumpling and using it to mop up the sauce, with its sweetness the dumpling added another dimension to the dish. To drink I ordered the sexy juice. A tropical concoction with rum, coconut shavings and what tasted like a creamy liquor. The portion sizes were as expected. Full hearty meals that warm the soul. A good selection of patties available aswel The pricing was fair. I highly recommend if in the area 7.7/10
