Dada’s Jerk Centre in Birmingham is a really cool spot – a small, bright place with a lively, casual feel. The walls are decorated with colorful artwork, and the whole atmosphere is super friendly and welcoming. Looking through the photos online, I noticed they have some nice outdoor seating too, perfect for warmer days.
The menu is focused, thankfully, not overwhelming. They've got all the classic jerk chicken and pork dishes you'd expect, but also some interesting sides and other Caribbean favorites. One photo shows a perfectly plated platter of jerk chicken with rice and peas – it looked amazing! I'd definitely recommend trying their jerk chicken, and I'm intrigued by their plantains, which are often a really good judge of how authentic a Caribbean place is.
What makes Dada’s special is its genuine vibe. It feels authentic, like you’re getting a real taste of Caribbean cooking. It's the kind of place perfect for a casual weeknight dinner with friends, a quick lunch break, or even a casual family get-together. Thought we would give this ago after seeing the reviews on here. Not sure where the food is from that people are posting but it’s not from here and I would avoid at all costs. Disgusting. Never had flat dumplings. Jerk sauce tastes like bbq and ketchup mixed together and the fried chicken was definitely cooked a few days ago and microwaved. Never again.
I ordered from here last night and was so disappointed. My whole order was wrong! I ordered a trap box with rice and peas and I got it with fries, the mac and cheese was just Mac with no cheese and to top it off I chose to have a jerk wrap and you sent me a burger! I attempted to contact the restaurant but you closed… I then decided to eat the burger as I had no other food and when I bit into it it tasted funny so I spat it out and when I looked the chicken was completely undercooked and raw!! I felt instantly sick and I will be reporting this to environmental health! Absolutely disgusting. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH Editing in light of the reply to this review. I have been unwell and off work since monday due to the food consumed sunday .. I have contacted environmental health who advised me to freeze the burger and they will be collecting it for testing and my GP is also involved with testing whatever has poisoned me! So yes im sure they will confirm the chicken was in-fact undercooked as when i showed them these photos they was shocked.
Tried Dada's tonight - glad I did. The Jerk chicken was exceptional. Plenty of steamed veg and rice & beans alongside the selection of boneless jerk chicken and wings. Will be coming back. Big up!
First time eating from here tonight and it truly did not disappoint. The curried mutton was absolutely beautiful and my daughter chose the Jerk Chicken Pasta and tasted just as beautiful as it looked fully fruity flavour with a nice kick from the chicken. They even gave my daughter a free can of pop. Thank you
