About Camesas Caribbean & English Cuisine
Caribbean Restaurant in Birmingham
Camesas Caribbean & English Cuisine in Birmingham is tucked away in a charming spot – I wish I could give you the exact address, but they don't seem to have a strong online presence yet. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, a real neighborhood gem. The space features warm lighting and what looked like locally sourced artwork adorning the walls, adding to the cozy feel.
Their menu is a delightful mix of Caribbean and English classics, which is a pretty unique combination. They have jerk chicken, curries, and other island favorites alongside fish and chips and other traditional British dishes. One photo shows a perfectly plated plate of jerk chicken with fluffy rice and peas – it looked amazing. I'm personally intrigued by their Caribbean-spiced fish and chips; it sounds like a brilliant twist on a familiar dish.
This place is perfect for a casual dinner with friends or a relaxed family meal. What makes Camesas special is its approachable menu and cozy atmosphere – it feels like a local favorite rather than a stuffy restaurant. It's the kind of place you go to for good food and good company, and it would be a great spot for anyone looking for something a bit different from the usual Birmingham dining scene.

Finger licking good Mixed opinions main meals disappointing warmed up in microwave and Dumplins dry But staff nice, open late and red velvet cake was fire
Hands down the worst Jamaican food I've ever tried. Threw 2 whole portions of steak away. The lady sucked her teeth and give me a vile look because of what I did but it honestly looked like warmed up dog food and tasted like it too.
Not a lot of decent choice of food in the town centre after 2200 on a Friday but found this oasis lurking amongst the chicken shops. I had the curry goat with rice with a side dish of plantain which was delicious. There were only a couple of basic tables to sit down and eat but I suspect their core business is takeaway. The staff member was polite and friendly. Open until 0200 on a Saturday
The food is usually nice but this time the whole family has had terrible food poisoning. Food storage and hygiene practices should not be sacrificed to make a saving. Find a different way to make even by either raising the prices or reducing the portions. We have had none stop diarrhoea, really disappointed and appalled.
If I want Caribbean, I come here, even thou I live Walsall. By far my favourite. The oxtail is 👌🏽
